Awkward Season 5 Episode 13 Review: I'm the Kind of Girl Who Found Her Voice in College

at .  Updated at .

It's time for Awkward to finally say goodbye.

On Awkward Season 5 Episode 13, Jenna Hamilton returned home after her first year of college and everything we thought we knew had changed.

She and Matty were no more and that kind of made me lose the will to stick with the rest of the episode. Time jumps are a great plot device, but they should not be used in shows that have run out of ideas and want to do a reset.

We've witnessed this couple break-up so many times that I don't give a crap whether they get together or not anymore. Maybe they're just not meant to be. Whatever Jenna did to split them up better be something major because this just isn't cutting it.

His new girlfriend seemed so freaking one dimensional. Don't even get me started on when she hit Jenna with the ball. Why did no one stick up for her? That's pretty much drawing a line in the sand and Jenna on a side all on her own.

Tamara is the one we hated last season that did things out of character and just acted plain stupid. Why would she ever be Sadie's friend? The two of them were mortal enemies and she's hardly being loyal to Jenna by being friendly with the chick who made her high school years hell.

I know that time does heal everything, but I doubt one year is long enough to heal those scars. Try fifty.

The most enjoyable part of the premiere involved Idea Bin. That workplace is ripe for a lot of comedy and we can't forget boning, too.

Luke made a shocking return into the fold and I actually liked him this time round. He's a nice enough guy and if he and Jenna can make it work this time then I'm all for it. What's the point in her being with Matty if they're never together for more than an episode before their miserable drama starts getting in the way?

Sadie's one liners were back and better than ever. She obviously thought she could just return to town and Sergio would be waiting around on her. Well, she was brought up to get everything she wanted, so I'll give her that, but this is another couple that has been cruelly pulled apart due to this ludicrous time jump story.

One other thing I ain't buying is the whole Lissa is a nanny. As if Lacey wouldn't have told Jenna that she hired her, or did Lacey and Jenna not speak for a whole year? That makes more sense right about now. It was good to know that Lissa wants Jake back and that they've been sleeping together.

They were a great pairing earlier in the series, so they could be even better now!

"I'm The Kind of Girl Who Found Her Voice in College" was a terrible return for the show. It's the clear that good ideas are hard to come by nowadays on the show, so it's time to stick a fork in it. It's done.
