Chicago PD Round Table: Where's the Laptop?

at .

Intelligence dealt with a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome on Chicago PD Season 3 Episode 19 and Burgess planted one on Roman.

Below, TV Fanatics Elizabeth Harlow and Stacy Glanzman are joined by super fan Amy Perrin to discuss Roman and Burgess, the disturbing case, and the location of the missing laptop.

On a scale of one to ten, how annoyed are you about Burgess and Roman?

Elizabeth: 15. I mean, it did facilitate the scene between Burgess and Lindsay, but just ew. And blah.

Amy: 10+. I had a bad feeling that this was going to happen, but I am not at all happy about Burgess kissing Roman. Blah is right!

Stacy: 10. It was bad enough when Roman was clearly interested in her, but I was hoping she'd resist. They have no chemistry and I really don't want to see them in a relationship.

Were you surprised Platt presumably didn't invite Intelligence to her wedding?

Elizabeth: A little bit, but they did end up having a drastically slashed budget. I was more surprised that she gave liquor duty to Burgess instead of their friends that, you know, own a bar.

Amy: Yes, I was. I thought that at least she would invite Voight. I missed seeing more Platt in this episode, so hopefully she will get a bigger role in the next episode.

Stacy: I was surprised as well. I guess since the wedding is happening on Chicago Fire, maybe they couldn't get everyone from PD to appear? It will be weird if all of Mouch's friends are there and no one is really there for Platt.

Do you think we will ever check in with Olinsky's family again?

Elizabeth: No clue. I'm torn between hoping that we do because I hate dropped threads, and not really expecting it because of past experience. I mean, look at Antonio's situation.

Amy: I do not have a clue either, but it would be nice to see Olinsky's family again.

Stacy: I hope so, but at this point it feels like it has just been forgotten. It would be nice to see him work things out with his wife and see how Michelle is adjusting.

What did you find most disturbing about the case?

Elizabeth: Well, the whole thing was upsetting. But probably his wife. And the way Intelligence handled her. I mean, I don't think Charles would have given the okay on that play.

Amy: Once again I concur with Elizabeth on the whole thing being upsetting. Stockholm Syndrome is quite common, and his wife definitely had a bad case of it. I am glad that in the end she found her true self again.

Stacy: For me it was Ruby admitting she carved her name into her arm so she wouldn't forget it. That is hard to imagine.

Where do you think the missing laptop is?

Elizabeth: Buried under paperwork somewhere really obvious. Or at his apartment, being used by Michelle? Who knows.

Amy: It is possible that Ruzek lost it, but just doesn't want to say anything. Roman was like a dog with a bone asking about it.

Stacy: I was half expecting it to be in the trunk of the missing car. That would have been funny. Ruzek probably stashed it somewhere and forgot to turn it in.

What was your favorite quote or scene?

Elizabeth: The opener, for sure. Lindsay's inability to participate in girl talk normally was hilarious. I was disappointed by the writers' decision to have Ruby keep the baby at the very end. She's 19, a recovering addict with no support system in place and no where to even go to sleep that night.

I can't see that her decision is realistic or that it's going to end up being "something good" for her. Total cop out there. The scene between her and Olinsky could have worked without that line. Even leaving it unanswered would have been preferable.

Amy: Is it wrong of me to say the scene where Olinsky and Voight were scaring Stommer, in order to beg for his life so that he knows what it feels like. I also loved the quote by Halstead in Molly's, "Ruzek and Burgess...and Roman. That sounds like a horror movie right there." Funny stuff!

Stacy: The opening scene for me as well. The whole thing made me laugh out loud, and I also really liked seeing the two of them pursue the suspect. They should work together more often.
