Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Episode 19 Review: Failed Experiments

at .

Things get Kreezy on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Episode 19 when Hive and Daisy bring the Kree back to Earth to continue their human-to-Inhuman experiments.

Daisy's mind is completely warped by Hive, is she too far gone to ever bring back?

Loyalties Are Tested - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

She may not be if Hive actually drains her of blood, the only source of Kree blood that they have (thanks to Mack) for the Inhuman experiments.

Mack tried to break through to Daisy and bring her back to herself, but her family is composed of the Inhumans and Hive now, not S.H.I.E.L.D. She wanted to "save" them by changing their DNA. Not anymore.

Daisy doesn't seem like herself anymore. Yes, being brainwashed will do that, but these feelings are supposed to be organic, only heightened by Hive's control.

He's not forcing her to think something, just showing her a different perspective.

Suddenly S.H.I.E.L.D. and Coulson are terrible because they want to save her, like they have before? Daisy doesn't feel like part of their family. Just like the lost girl of the team.

Sometimes the world's greatest miracles happen by accident.

Daisy

I'd feel better about Daisy's current story if it made sense. She's always been searching for a family, and she found that in S.H.I.E.L.D., but suddenly it's not good enough because they aren't Inhuman?

When did she become so power obsessed? Since Agents of Shield Season 3 Episode 14, Daisy has basically announced that Inhumans are better than humans in every way, and she's too good of an agent with her powers.

She even insinuated that she's better than May.

You don't insult Agent Melinda May, girl.

Her connection with Hive is interesting. He's babying her in the way that she's always searched for her family, and is partially manipulating her to believe that the agency was never her family, but some of this is clearly coming from her.

Can she ever come back from this? I don't think so. She almost killed Mack. Mack. Who could possibly think of killing that man?

Daisy's attitude would have to adjust severely for her to fit back into the fold and be able to work with the other agents.

As things are, and were before she was brainwashed, Daisy holds herself to a higher standard than S.H.I.E.L.D. allows.

Perhaps the vigilante lifestyle would suit her better? I'd kill for a Daisy/Jessica Jones duo.

Now that Hive is going to use Daisy as a blood bank, how will this change their dynamic?

She's going to become less of a partner in crime to him, and more of a necessity for what he wants: his army.

The Kree keep referring to Hive as a mistake. A "failed experiment." Hopefully there will be more flashbacks to show exactly what Hive did that turned this alien species against him.

Meanwhile, Lincoln's reckless behavior is becoming obnoxious.

He's desperate to save Daisy, so he injected himself with Jemma's antitoxin, after Coulson specifically ordered him not to.

Of course, it didn't work. All it did was shut down his immune system. Lincoln isn't a good fit for S.H.I.E.L.D. and it's clear the team is starting to see that now.

He acts on his own accord, always disobeying orders and doing whatever he pleases with no thoughts of the consequences.

He can't listen to superiors and he's a liability to Coulson and his fellow agents. I wouldn't trust Lincoln with my life.

Agent May has gotten so much more time to be sassy and killer lately, which has me worried for her future.

Mack: Daisy's my partner, this is on me.
May: Why is everyone making this about themselves?

Could she be the one in the flash forward scene? I'm afraid so. She's starting to move back into her role as the infamous Cavalry, which she hasn't done nearly all season.

After she failed to assassinate Hive, will he come after her? He knows her face and has Ward's memories, so she's in just as much danger as Jemma is after shooting him.

Jemma's growth this season has been the strongest. She's come from a scientist who never went into the field, to an agent who was stranded on an alien planet and forced to survive for months.

She shot an un-killable Inhuman point blank, three times.

I had to shoot him three times just to shut him up.

Jemma

Could she be in danger, too? Who do you think will be the agent to go? Will Fitz and Simmons find a cure? This season finale is not going to be easy to watch.
