The 100 Round Table: Our Fight is Not Over

at .

This was certainly an explosive season finale.

The 100 Season 3 Episode 16 saw Clarke prevail and successfully defeat ALIE by venturing within the City of Light with the help of Lexa, who triumphantly returned for an emotional reunion with our hero.

Meanwhile, Clarke's friends and mother guarded her body in the throne room at Polis, while back at Arkadia, Raven and Monty used their coding know-how to assist her within the AI's program.

Unfortunately, the destruction of the City of Light marks only the beginning of a much larger issue – total global irradiation.

TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Meg Bonney, Kelly Thompson, and Yana Grebenyuk are here to discuss all of those crazy twists in the last minutes of the season finale. Join us for our last roundtable of The 100 Season 3!

Clarke and Lexa reunited in the City of Light. React.

Allison: I loved their reunion. I wish Lexa's return hadn't been spoiled ages ago, but I loved seeing Lexa again. I have missed watching her kick ass, and all of her scenes with Clarke were so sweet.

Meg: Agreed! I wish it had been a surprise, but it was still so awesome! It made me sad that she won't be back, but that was how she should go out. Fighting and being a badass.

Kelly: Her entrance was epic. It was nice to see a real resolution to their relationship. Seeing Lexa again did make me sad that we will more than likely never see her again. I have to add that the "I love you" from Clarke to Lexa was great, but I very much believe it was added post-production to appease fans. That's not a bad thing because Clarke does love Lexa, but it's interesting to see how fan outrage is still impacting the show.

Yana: I knew what would happen, so I was just waiting for it to play out on screen. It did look different on screen, and I am glad that they ended Lexa's story in a good way. Maybe this will help the fandom move on and their memory of the character will be different.

I also knew that this would be the episode where Clarke realizes that she has to take the pain she feels and deal with it. Lexa's death was hard, but she will find a way to live on, just like with Finn's death. Because in the end, Clarke is an 18 year old girl who has so much more ahead of her.

The only casualty (of a named, regular character) was Pike. Were you surprised that his was the only death? How about the manner of his death?

Allison: I was surprised that he was the only one who died. I was expecting a lot more bloodshed. Octavia killing Pike like that was shocking. I'm worried about her. She's not in a good place right now.

Meg: I am actually sad to see Pike go. I was really starting to like him, but I guess that's why it made what Octavia did even more shocking. They already killed two pretty big characters this season so I'm glad it was light on the death. ALIE might be gone for good too, I think. I hated her but loved to hate her.

Kelly: I was not surprised. There have been so many deaths this season that seeing Indra or Kane or even Harper go would have been too much. And just because we didn't get a major character, we got the threat that everyone could die in six months. I loved Pike's death. It felt like it came out of nowhere, that Pike might actually survive this season. Octavia killing Pike was only fitting.

Yana: Nope. I wasn't because the show has a pattern. In the finale, we never see a significant death, we see large body counts of unknowns instead. Big deaths like Finn, Lincoln, or Lexa always happen in between the season. I was upset that Octavia still chose to kill him, but that was because of how upset I am with her character altogether. I can't get into the mindset of her character or her actions recently.

What was your favorite scene or moment?

Allison: Gah, so many of them. I loved Lexa's "I told you my spirit would choose wisely" line to Clarke. I think my hands down favorite scene would be Lexa's entrance, specifically her little smirk to Clarke.

Meg: Everything about Lexa and Clarke but yes, that entrance and smirk were just amazing. Oh, and when they hugged. They were in total shock that they were able to see each other again and it was so sweet.

Kelly: The Clarke/Lexa scenes were great, but Octavia killing Pike was my fave scene of the episode. Her stabbing him, ripping out her sword, watching him on the floor, her leaving the room with everyone watching her, and then fade to black. EPIC. Octavia is such an interesting character and killing someone in this manner will change her a lot. Her arc next season is one of the things I'm most excited about.

Yana: My favorite parts were two Clarke scenes. Clarke realizing that she was avoiding her pain and that they can't do that, they need to overcome pain. This was such a meaningful message not only for the character but for the fans who watch the show and who may struggle.

And I also loved how Clarke corrected Bellamy when he said that she saved the world. They may not have saved it yet but whatever they do, it's a team effort. And Clarke acknowledging that it's not only her but everyone was just the best.

ALIE revealed to Clarke that the world would be 96% uninhabitable within the next 6 months, effectively guaranteeing humanity's extermination. What did you think of that crazy twist and how it will affect season 4?

Allison: I'm so happy that ALIE was sort of trying to protect humanity by forcing people to enter the City of Light. It was a great twist, and I really enjoyed hearing ALIE and Becca debating on how to best save humanity. I think it will force everyone on the ground to work together, which I'm excited for.

Meg: See! That's why we need to chill out on the technology. ALIE thought she was doing what was right for humanity by chipping them all. I agree with Allison, it will be nice to see everyone working together. I bet they wish they had Mount Weather now!

Kelly: It will obviously affect season 4 but time moves very slow on this show. Three episodes sometimes only cover two days so six months from now could literally be season 7. They will have to find out if ALIE was telling the truth and, if so, find a way to survive but six months will not be the end of season 4 so another element will be the focus next season.

Yana: I don't know. I am worried, but I am confident that they will figure it all out. It's a very weird place to be in because I think I am very positive for no reason.

Grade the episode and the season, on a scale of 1-10.

Allison: I'd give the episode an 8 out of 10. The season? Ah, that's difficult because the first half of the season was such a mess. I'd give it a 5-7 out of 10.

Meg: This episode was a solid 9. It really delivered and gave us some closure that was really needed. The season? That was a little rougher. I'd say a 6-7. Once they actually got the ALIE stuff sorted out and established and Clarke washed that junk out her hair, it got really good.

Kelly: At least a 9 for the finale. It was my favorite season finale but the season as a whole was so uneven and rushed and crazy so probably a 5 or 6 for the whole season.

Yana: I liked the finale so I grade it a 9 too. The season was off in the beginning to accommodate Lexa's return, but in the end it came back around. The second half of the season was exactly the core of the show so I would grade it a 6 because the first half of the season ruined its start.

What are you most excited to see in season 4?

Allison: I'm excited to see how everyone who was in the City of Light copes with what they've done. I'm also looking forward to Skaikru working with the Grounders. The Grounders are also out a Commander, so what will they do? Also, is Roan alive? I need to know ASAP.

Meg: I think that with their structure and religious beliefs being destroyed, the Grounders will look to Clarke and her people. Maybe they can still convince Luna to come aboard once the plants start melting down. I don't think Clarke will be able to rally mankind alone. I also think her and Bellamy are in a really good place, and I look forward to seeing them lead together again.

Kelly: The Grounders having no Commander is the thing I'm excited about. There is so much we don't know about their history and ways and I desperately want to find about more about their traditions. I also want to watch how everything that has happened affects Octavia and see Indra again. Bring on season 4!

Yana: I want to see my Sky People back together, working to stop any danger that might come. They are the show, although I wouldn't mind Octavia not being a part of the team because she wouldn't fit in there right now. I would also love to see Roan and Luna back to help save the world. Just a lot of team work with all of these people, counting on one another and maybe some Bellarke? Any Bellarke interactions would do...
