Arrow is seriously returning to the creative heights of Arrow Season 2!

On Arrow Season 5 Episode 2, Oliver was forced to embrace change and create a new team that would help him continue on as mayor, while the streets of Star City were being watched for criminal activity.

You have to respect the powers that be for deciding to go this route for the show. Changing the team at the core of it was always going to be a tricky move.

Thankfully, it paid off for the most part. Evelyn was a good choice to take up one of the spots on the team. Story wise, she has a lot to offer and her back story will probably be explored a lot in the coming weeks.

The jury is still out on Wild Dog. The dude just does not like to follow rules. I'm struggling to conclude whether that's a positive or a negative for him.

Obviously, Oliver's way of doing things was always going to ruffle some feathers, but he went a bit far. He threw the group straight in the deep end in order to see if they would sink or swim.

The weak link for me is definitely Curtis. I just can't fathom why the powers that be felt the need to prop up the character by having him join the team.

He works much better when he's sharing the screen with Felicity. Maybe I have become accustomed to watching he and Felicity get themselves out of crazy situations.

That said, Curtis stepping up to challenge Oliver about the way he was acting was pretty great. He was the last person I expected to hear from throughout all of it.

The Bratva flashbacks helped shed light on why Oliver was being so strict to the team. It's crazy to think just how important the flashbacks are this time round. They've been all over the place throughout the run of the series.

There were definitely pros and cons to Oliver's way of thinking about the whole thing. He knew that he didn't want the team to get upset if something happened to one of them.

He knows firsthand how that can destroy the dynamics of a team.

With Thea well and truly finished fighting crime, she couldn't help but stick her nose in when she noticed Tobias getting a little too close for comfort to the Amertech lady.

I didn't pick up on her name, but her storyline just seemed ripe to end pretty quickly. The way Tobias thought outside the box about keeping his money was pretty intriguing.

This showed he's a disloyal dude, who most certainly does not deserve to be given the time of day. His escape from the villain with the tentacles was a little too easy.

One of the more surprising developments of the night centered on Felicity's boyfriend, Billy. The dude was not annoying.

He rose to the occasion and helped Felicity out. That, in turn helped the team get closer to the truth than ever before.

"The Recruits" was a solid follow up to Arrow Season 5 Episode 1. It introduced us to the new team and set up some of the storylines for the coming weeks.

Is anyone else loving Thea looking out for Captain Lance? There's no chance he will return to his former self any time soon. The poor guy seems to be losing his kids every other week.
Diggle's storyline is not cutting it for me. There was a lot of promise, but it just seems like it's there to show us that Diggle is still part of the show.
Felicity's one-liners were on point. She and Oliver working together has been one of the highlights of this new season.
All of the stuff about the the team wearing masks was amazing!
