Scorpion Season 3 Episode 7 Review: We're Gonna Need a Bigger Vote

Walter and Ralph being partners is everything I've ever wanted.

On Scorpion Season 3 Episode 7, it's bring your son to work day! I'm sorry, I'm still not over that moment. In all seriousness, Walter and Ralph were great partners.

Walter being benched was a fun way to mix things up, and it was even better that the focus wasn't on how the team was doing without him. Instead, it was all about Walter desperately trying to be a part of the mission.

Election Chaos - Scorpion

Sure, Walter claimed it was because his team needed him, but it also seemed like Walter just hated being left out. Team Scorpion was doing just fine without Walter, but Walter was going crazy without them.

Now, I'm usually commenting on how I wish that Ralph would get more scenes with (insert Team Scorpion member here). I love seeing Ralph's relationship with everyone. It's usually delightful, and Ralph always makes an episode more entertaining.

This hour is a reminder that we also need more meaningful Paige and Ralph scenes. It seems like it's been a while since Ralph and Paige have had a serious, heart-to-heart type conversation, and man, have we been missing out.

It was nice to check in with Ralph and Paige, especially since the topic of conversation was Tim. Ralph deserves all the good son awards for telling his mom that her happiness is what matters most to him, even though he wants Walter to be his stepfather.

Walter: I need to know more about what my team is doing. I think I know how we can find out, but I will need a partner. Are you game?
Ralph: I'm your man.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that Tim and Paige are about to be dunzo?

Paige did not seem happy with everyone throwing stats in her face. While she seemed to shrug off Team Scorpion's comments, Ralph's appeared to have hit home for her. It was probably the fact that Ralph said Tim could be his future stepfather that did the trick.

As much as I love Tim (and Scott Porter), this is a good way to maybe start the unraveling of Taige...Pim. Did we even have a ship name for them?

A slow build, or a slow destruction in this case, is a lot more interesting to watch play out than something that is over in an instant. It would be intriguing to watch Paige, maybe, slowly pull away from Tim, and then watch how Tim and the rest of Team Scorpion react to it.

Damn you, Scorpion, pulling on the heartstrings again. It's been awhile since I've cried while watching this show.

Scorpion gets you with these unexpectedly emotional scenes, and those scenes are the reason why this show is so great. Scorpion manages to do crazy cases mixed with humor, along with these quiet emotional moments that take your breath away.

Happy opening up to Toby about how badly she wanted this baby not only provided us with a small glimpse into Happy's past, but it also showed us how it shaped her into the woman we see before us today. Jadyn Wong is absolutely phenomenal in that scene.

You know in elementary school, I was jealous of the other kids because their parents waited outside to take them home, and I walked to the orphanage by myself. I was looking forward to waiting outside for somebody.

Happy

Admittedly, a baby would be a little difficult to fit into the show, but I have no doubt that Scorpion would have somehow made it work. Hopefully, Toby and Happy will continue discussing starting a family. Is anyone else anticipating but also dreading how the rest of Team Scorpion is told and reacts to Happy's news?

Okay, the one thing that was really annoying about the case was that the Secret Service didn't have a photo ID of the caterer. I mean, really? Come on, if the guy was pre-cleared, then the Secret Service would probably know everything about him, including what he looked like.

Yes, we had to get Walter onboard Air Force One, but this little thing drove me absolutely insane for some reason. Was anyone else bothered by it?

Other than that, the case was fine. Toby ranting on live TV was just as delightful as you could have imagined it. What did you think of the case? Do you think this is the beginning of the end for Tim and Paige?

Happy: My top issue on election day? Surveillance. The bad guys watch our every move, but who watches the watchers?
Ralph: You're what my teacher calls the crackpot vote.

What did you think of the episode? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
