The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 7 Review: The Veracity Elasticity

Can Raj and Howard sing the theme song for Fun with Flags more often, please?

I have to say, The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 7 may just be my favorite episode of the season so far. There are so many genuinely funny moments in "The Veracity Elasicity" that it reminds me of the earlier seasons.

More Fun With Flags - The Big Bang Theory

What makes it work best is that the focus is on two main plotlines. Just two. That's all. It doesn't feel rushed, and yet every character is still a part of the story.

It also puts Sheldon and Leonard on the same side. There's been so much focus on Leonard being happy that Sheldon is out of the apartment and not wanting him back that you forget these two are actually friends.

Yes, there's difficulty there, but at the end of the day, there's a reason they lived together as long as they did.

On "The Veracity Elasticity," they have this sort of male bonding moment when they find out that both of their partners have been keeping something from them.

Amy has been lying about the fact that her apartment has been ready for weeks just so that she could keep living with Sheldon, and Penny has slowly been moving Leonard's collectibles into storage.

You have to admire Penny for keeping that up so long without him noticing, by the way.

Both guys are upset to think their partners have been lying, and Sheldon helps Leonard investigate what collectibles are missing so far. That quest delivers one of many witty lines:

Leonard: She took my Where's Waldo!
Sheldon: Well no, no. He's over there.
Leonard: Oh yeah, there he is.

Well, at least she hasn't taken Waldo yet.

The best part, though, is when Sheldon and Leonard talk in Klingon (complete with subitles on the screen) only to see that Penny and Amy have their own secret language too. This is a battle of the sexes I never could have imagined, and it is completely hilarious.

Everything comes out in the open, and then Sheldon admits that he does like living with Amy. He seems to agree to keep living with her, but now there's a new problem. If he moves out of the apartment, he loses his room. And, wait for is, HIS SPOT.

So my big question is, if he moves out permanently, is the couch coming with him?

I think it's going to have to.

What probably makes the most sense is for Leonard to move into Penny's place and then Amy to move into Sheldon and Leonard's place. Leonard is going to have a much easier time adapting to that kind of change than Sheldon will.

Other thoughts:

  • Sheldon and Amy's Fun with Flags episode really is fantastic. I'm loving their "house band."
  • Thank goodness Sheldon has found a woman who knows how to soothe him. Humming the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey does the trick.
  • Is kale still a fad? I don't know, but this line from Raj is one of my favorites:

If we're all gonna die, why am I eating so much kale?

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 7 Quotes

Oh, I don't mind. I'm very good at complaining. If it were an Olympic Sport I'd complain about what a stupid sport it is, and then I'd take home the gold.

Sheldon

I can't believe I'm saying this, but can we watch the news or something?
