Mon-El's secret came out on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 16, causing Kara to break up with him over his deceit. 

Luckily, the breakup didn't last long, and all it took was a musical crossover on The Flash Season 3 Episode 17  to get KaraMel back together!

Below, TV Fanatics Steven Ford, Christine Orlando, Kathleen Wiedel, Yana Grebenyuk, and Jim Garner talk the (short-lived) break up, Winn's legal trouble, and what they loved about the crossover. 

Are you on Team Kara or Team Mon-El in this breakup?

Steve: I need to side with Mon-El here. Yes, he should have told Kara the truth, but it's not his fault he is a Daxam prince. He does not want to be the "face" of their race's future, all he cares about is Kara and moving forward with her. She'll come around.

Christine: Team Mon-El. Lying to her wasn’t right but she made it clear how much she hated anything to do with Daxam. Plus, he thought Daxam was destroyed, so I could see how he believed that part of his life was over. He loves Kara and I hated that she completely shut him down.

Kathleen: I'm with you, Christine. While lying about his identity was almost certainly a bad idea in the long run, how was he to know right off the bat that he could trust a group of total strangers on another planet about who he was?

Once the initial suspicion was passed, how could he admit the truth without much the same thing happening?

It's not like he can see the future and know that this Kryptonian woman would be his girlfriend in the future. And he thought his world was gone and that he could start over, have a new life of his own making. While Kara's anger is understandable, she certainly overreacted under the circumstances.

Yana: Team Kara. Mon-El has been lying since he first landed and I'm over Kara somehow thinking she isn't valid in being upset. This could be my personal bias, but I am so over Mon-El appearing and Kara suddenly being sidelined in her own show.

Even her sister is now nudging her to forgive this guy that she barely found herself trusting in the first place, only to be proven right again.

Jim: Team Mon-El. As mentioned above, lying was wrong, but he lied for the right reasons. Kara needs to bring it down a notch with her sense of morality.

Do you want to see Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo return?

Steve: I would be happy to have them back. Perhaps Mon-El's parents will turn on Kara and Earth since there is obviously still some built up hostility against Kryptonians.

Also since Rhea now feels Kara is a bad influence on her son. Mon-El could end up turning on his parents in order to protect the woman he loves.

Christine: I can’t imagine their characters will just take off and leave their son behind, so I’d bet this isn’t the last we’ll see of them.

Kathleen: I agree with Christine. They sure backed off far too quickly and easily for my tastes. They'll be back, I'm sure.

Yana: Why not? It's not like Mon-El is going anywhere, so why not have his family around as well. I actually love Teri Hatcher so I could watch that.

Jim: The Daxam Royal Couple doesn't strike me as the "well I guess we will just go then" type of people. As mentioned by Christine and Steve, they will be back before we know it.

Should Maggie have given Alex a heads up that Winn was in trouble?

Steve: Absolutely, no question. Maggie knows how close Alex is to these people. It would have been the least she could have done. At least Maggie somewhat made up for it by giving them 24 hours for Winn to clear his name.

Christine: A heads-up would have been nice, but I understand that sometimes they will need to keep their professional lives separate. Even Alex seemed to accept that…this time.

Kathleen: I'm not sure that Maggie should have given Alex a heads up, as such; that sort of thing can get one into trouble professionally, especially when friends are involved.

Things get infinitely more complicated, though, when you're dealing with top secret government agencies and extraterrestrials... it's hard to know when to draw the line.

Yana: That was actually another weird plot. It was almost like they didn't know what to do with this couple now so they had them fighting over something so strange. I don't think Maggie should have told Alex, there's a line between personal and professional, right?

Jim: I think it was handled correctly. Maggie was following her case. If anything WINN should have called Alex as he was heading to the police station. They are finding a decent balance to work and relationship.

Do you agree with Winn's decision to forgive Lyra?

Steve: I do, only because Winn has real feelings for Lyra and he wants to start fresh and see if they can actually build a genuine relationship. I can't blame the guy for wanting that for himself.

Christine: Yes, but I think he’s the one who needs to keep his guard up, more so than Kara needs to with Mon-El. Lyra conned him once. That doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have a second chance but I hope Winn keeps his eyes wide open moving forward.

Kathleen: Honestly, I think I'd draw the line at my significant other dragging me into criminal activity. Seriously, things could have turned out so much worse for Winn. How Lyra used him was wrong, no two ways about it.

If I were Winn, maybe I'd forgive her on a personal level, because letting hurt like that fester never turns out well, but the relationship would be over.

Yana: No, but this is Winn so it made sense for him at least. I didn't think for a moment that he wouldn't forgive her.

Jim: I agree he should have, she was in a tough spot and not having anyone other than her brother close to her I see real potential for the two of them. I'm hopeful that they will make it.

What was your favorite part of the crossover?

Steve: I actually enjoyed the reveal that Music Meister wasn't your typical villain of the week. I enjoyed the important lesson that he was teaching Kara and Barry, that even heroes need to be saved at times and they can't bear everything on their own shoulders.

That revelation will carry weight with both of these characters moving forward.

Christine: I don’t watch The Flash, (Although I was tempted to check it out this week!), so for me, the best scene was Mon-El showing up at Kara’s and putting his heart out on his sleeve. I really felt for him in that moment.

I also liked that he came back to the DEO afterward because walking away wins him nothing, and I think Kara needed to see that he wasn't taking the easiest path this time.

Kathleen: I have a background in musical theater, so I really got a kick out of seeing and hearing the actors do the song and dance numbers.

Grant Gustin, in particular, impressed me, especially when he broke out into dance the way he did. That sort of thing takes a lot of practice to get down just right.

Yana: My favorite part of Supergirl was when we were officially introduced to Darren Criss's character. He saw Supergirl and just his thing, magically removing his restraints and then disappearing into the next show. It was entertaining and it made the episode a little better because I wasn't a very big fan of it.

Jim: I love the fact that the entire episode came down to them needing to be rescued to learn their lesson. I thought it was really awesome that they had to be vulnerable in order to get out.
