On The 100 Season 4 Episode 8, Clarke made a drastic decision in an attempt to help save humanity and stop the human experimentation on innocent lives.

Meanwhile, Kane and Jaha led an expedition to find out more about the Second Dawn's potential bunker, while Jasper and Bellamy did some soul-searching.

Below, TV Fanatics Caralynn Lippo and Allison Nichols are joined by Samantha Coley from Tell-Tale TV to discuss everything that went down during “God Complex.“

What did you think of Clarke's decision in the end, to turn herself into a nightblood rather than using Emori to experiment on?

Allison: It was about damn time. This is Clarke Griffin we're talking about. She literally left Arkadia after what she did at Mount Weather because she thought she needed to be the one to bear the weight of what happened, not her people.

If Clarke hadn't injected herself, it would not have felt true to who she is. It would have been an irredeemable action, in my opinion.

Samantha: Seconding Allison here. About time, girl. I had been frustrated that no one offered to volunteer until Clarke took it upon herself to take the injection. And this is the Clarke we know and love, making tough decisions and taking responsibility. 

Caralynn: Yeah, I definitely thought it was strange that Clarke was by far one of the people least bothered by the human experimentation. She's definitely crossed firmly over into Jaha-on-the-Ark territory.

It was very satisfying to see Clarke finally step up and put her money where her mouth is, so to speak, and put an end to the experimenting on others.

On that note, what will the consequences of Clarke's newly-acquired nightblood status be?

Allison: I'm betting that the serum worked and that she could be the next commander, seeing as how the only other nightblood is Luna, and she doesn't want the job. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this potential twist.

Samantha: I have a feeling it will come in handy keeping Clarke alive later this season, but there's probably a duality to it involving the flame as well.

I don't know if the flame will still make her the commander since most people think that it's been smashed, but it would be cool for Clarke to have the knowledge and ability to communicate with Becca and the last 100 years' worth of commanders.

Caralynn: I'm 100% sure that the sole purpose of this twist was so that Clarke could rightfully become the commander down the line. Perhaps this would also allow her to see Lexa again, at some point in time? A girl can hope.

Abby destroyed the radiation chamber rather than allow Clarke to be tested on. Did Abby's choice make sense?

Allison: She was acting emotionally rather than logically. I hoped that Abby would have been able to do something else, other than destroying their only shot at testing the serum. It was a bit too rash, even for a mother who was afraid that her daughter would die, Plus, they literally just had to stop the chamber from being destroyed.

Samantha: Unsurprisingly, I'm team Abby here. Was it the most logical decision to smash the chamber? Of course not. However, everyone seems to be forgetting that not only does Abby put being Clarke's mother above everything else, but she's also suffering from a similar brain condition as Raven.

So yes, her choice absolutely makes sense. For all we know she got the serum right and whoever went in would have been fine, but letting Clarke go in after having seen her irradiated in her vision just isn't a possibility for Abby.

I also felt like it was a really emotionally compelling way for everyone else to find out about Abby's brain condition.

Caralynn: I love Abby, but oh man, that was such a dumb move. No sense at all. I get that she was frantic and needed to keep her daughter alive, but it was phenomenally short-sighted. There were about a million other things she could've done to stop Clarke from testing out her new nightblood with a hint of radiation poisoning. 

One of Jaha's zany ideas actually came through (apparently). Will the newly-discovered Second Dawn bunker be the answer to humanity's prayers?

Allison: It's sure looking that way. I do love that Jaha wasn't completely crazy. I'm also really intrigued by the connection between the cult who built the bunkers, and the early grounders.

Samantha: Lord I hope so, I've about had it with potential solutions being found and then dashed by the end of the next episode. Plus the bunker is really, really cool and deeply entrenched in Grounder history and pre-pramfiya 1.0 history which both hold a lot of potential for the story.

Caralynn: I'm with Sam. The never-ending train of non-solutions is growing tiresome. We're already about halfway through the season, I need them to just pick one thing and stick with it. Seems like that "one thing" might actually be the Second Dawn bunker.

I also loved how action-adventure-y the entire plot with Jaha, Kane, Monty, and Gaia figuring out how to open the bunker door felt.

Bellamy and Jasper got their party on after a long, meaningful trek to track down those drug-nuts from The 100 Season 1. Did you enjoy this subplot or was it a massive waste of time?

Allison: I actually enjoyed it. Jasper seemed to get through to Bellamy, telling him to stop beating himself up over everything because life is too short. It was nice to see that Skaikru can still let loose, even after everything they have been through.

Samantha: I enjoyed it, especially all of the callbacks to The 100 Season 1. It did feel really disconnected from the rest of the episode though. Each of the stories was very self-contained this week. While they were all very good, they kind of came off a bit disjointed to me and this one was the one that stuck out the most.

Caralynn: This was easily the least engaging part of "God Complex" for me, but I still understand why it was necessary. Bellamy needed someone to force him to chill out and acknowledge that beating himself up over his actions is pointless with the world ending.

Like Sam, I loved the callbacks to earlier episodes.

Favorite scene/quote/moment?

Allison: I loved Raven making the Mount Weather reference. It was a punch to the gut, but she wasn't wrong. These people that we villainized on an earlier season, we are starting to look at in a different way.

We were all for Abby and company to test out the serum on someone, even knowing that there was a very real chance that they could die. And why? Because death is coming, and something has to be done in order to survive.

There's no right or wrong on The 100. It's all a gray area, and that moral ambiguity is one of the things I love about this show.

Samantha: Every moment between Clarke and Abby. They're both just such incredible women who care so deeply for each other and for their people. I loved seeing the difference in how they make decisions and how far each of them is willing to go for survival.

The moment when Clarke takes the needle out of Abby's hands definitely had me tearing up.

Caralynn: All of the Murphy/Emori scenes truly broke my heart in half. Murphy really loves her, and she really loves him.

I legitimately teared up when she attempted to convince Murphy to play along with the others so that he wouldn't be the next person experimented on. I basically sobbed when he refused and begged for Emori's life. #Memori forever, guys.
