Riverdale: Graham Phillips Cast As Veronica's Ex-Boyfriend

at .

Veronica Lodge's New York past is about to catch up with her in Riverdale.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Graham Phillips has been added to the cast of The CW's sudsy drama as Veronica's ex-boyfriend.

He will be playing Nick St. Clair and is currently scheduled to appear in two episodes of the drama's forthcoming second season.

According to Riverdale Executive Producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, “Nick is an old classmate of Veronica’s from New York, and despite his parent-pleasing veneer, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing: a hard-partying Lothario with dark desires and an unchecked sense of privilege."

"His arrival in Riverdale will threaten Archie’s relationship with Veronica, and may even put some of our characters at risk.”

That snippet alone makes us excited for his arrival.

If you watch Riverdale online, you will already know that Veronica and Archie are currently together, but it's unclear how this random gift from New York will change things.

Will he do battle with Archie for Veronica's heart, or does he have another agenda?

With this show, it would be foolish to not think the latter.

There were rumblings at show's San Diego Comic-Con panel that the ladies were going to join forces once again.

This time, however, their target is poised to be Nick.

If he's putting lives at risk, he's not going to be one to stick around. Might Veronica's crooked father, Hiram, have anything to do with this sudden appearance?

Considering the lengths he was willing to go to on Riverdale Season 1 to get what he wanted; it would make sense for him to want to have a say about who Veronica is dating.

Something tells us his hatred for Fred Andrews may have something to do with this.

Mark Consuelos has already been confirmed to portray the villain and has even snagged a full-fledged series regular role.

Philips has previously appeared on The Good Wife and Secrets & Lies.

Riverdale Quotes

Alice: These diaries are your past, and your past is crushing you. Edgar says that...
Betty: What, Mom? What does some guru who’s running a heaven’s gate commune for pregnant runaways and wives of serial killers have to say about my diaries?
Alice: We know that you look down on the Farm, Betty. But, Edgar has done nothing but help me. He’s encouraged me to embrace everything that I was ashamed of and become the best version of myself.

Veronica: What's happening out there? Do we know? Is it about me?
Jughead: I have a strong inkling, and no. Also, I'd let it go.
Veronica: Yes, but you're you and I'm me. You do you, girl. I'll be back.
[She leaves]
Kevin: What was it like before she got here? I honestly cannot remember.
