Scorpion Season 4 Episode 11 Review: Who Let the Dog Out ('Cause Now It's Stuck in a Cistern)

This episode is an excellent reminder as to why Team Scorpion has wormed their way into my heart.
On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 11, Cabe and Sly were on trial, and the rest of the team was going insane waiting helplessly for the verdict to be read. We've never really seen the team helpless and vulnerable before.
Typically, the team will hit a roadblock, and they'll be able to work their way around it. It's a temporary problem, not a permanent one.
The only time we've come close to seeing members of the team this helpless is when it comes to their love lives, but it's not the same as waiting for Cabe's fate to be decided.
While it was entertaining to watch everyone struggle to cope with the stress (more on that later), the part that stands out as the highlight of the hour is Cabe.
He gave everyone a gift, just in case things went sideways. He wanted everyone to be able to smile and be happy, forgetting for a moment the pain of Cabe being behind bars, as they discovered what Cabe got them.
I know it sounds corny these days, but I was raised to do what's right, to protect and serve, to help others. It's my life's work. It's what my dad did, and I would not sully my office, my honor, or my family name by helping a criminal escape from justice.

He also told Sly that he needed to know that Sly would be okay if Cabe went to jail. There were a lot of tears shed this hour.
Cabe's always looked out for his team. He's their protector and seeing him prepare for not being able to be there for them was heartbreaking.
Thankfully, the verdict came out not guilty, and then we all got to sob as everyone opened their gifts in front of Cabe.
I'm looking at your face, and I can see you are a creature with merit, so thank you. You see my team and I are worried about our friend, and we don't know if we can save him, but he's being brave, as always, as are you.

Everyone else bawled their eyes out, right? Toby getting Cabe's father's hat got me, and then the VISA application letter? There were a lot of tears.
These gifts show just how strong Cabe's relationships with everyone are, and they remind us why we choose to spend our team with this ragtag bunch of geniuses every week.
Team Scorpion indeed is a family, and yeah there's usually some insane cases to pique our interests, but that's not why we watch.
We watch for Happy, for Toby, for Walter, for Sly, for Paige, for Cabe, and for everyone else who makes Team Scorpion their home, either permanently or temporarily. We watch for that bond that only family can give, whether it's family by blood, by marriage, or by choice.
Okay, let's lighten the mood up a bit, shall we?

Watching everyone stress out over the trial could have been, well, stressful, but instead, it was pretty entertaining.
Plus, Paige truly shined. She couldn't stress out immediately because she had a crisis she could tackle -- Team Scorpion's horrible coping mechanisms.
It was a fun way to see Paige in action. She got everyone back in the right head space and focused on saving Monty.
Saving Monty turned out to be the most stressful situation, at least for me. I don't think I've ever been so invested in a case before. Have you?
Paige: Shut up, Toby!
Happy: Don't blame him. It's my fault. I shouldn't have let him swipe the stuff.
Paige: And you shut up too. You've been berating yourself about everything. That's not who you are. You're mean and judgmental, and that's what makes you tick. And you're not a daredevil, so stop riding unicycles and jumping out of cars and running in front of firetrucks and picking fights.
Walter: She's right. You have been careless.
Paige: And you. I should tell you to shut your mouth, but it's been full since we left Cabe at the courthouse. You're stress eating your way through this trial, literally consuming anxiety. You're engaging in risky behavior to distract yourself since you can't gamble your stress away. And since you can't build a way for Cabe out of his problem, you re punishing yourself instead of being nasty to everyone like normal. In short, your coping mechanisms suck, so you want to help on a day where you feel helpless, get your act together and save the damn dog because we only have thirteen and a half minutes.
It's sweet that the team distracted themselves with a case so small as a dog stuck in a hole. It's probably the equivalent of firefighters spending time rescuing a kitten from a tree.
Of course, Monty's rescue ended up being a lot more complicated. This is Scorpion after all.
Still, this was a great change of pace, case-wise. Watching Team Scorpion volunteer their services and take over the case was fun.
The cop didn't put up much of a fight, but it's not too surprising considering he had Happy Quinn staring him down.
Now, I know we aren't supposed to think negative thoughts, but if Cabe didn't come back, I'd be okay with the new guy...temporarily, obviously.
We need a fix of something we can fix because the stress of waiting to see if Gallo will get the gallows will drive us nuts, and it's your job to keep us sane. So come hell or high water, we are getting that hound of out the ground!

He became invested in making sure Team Scorpion got the job done, and when they needed an inspirational speech, by golly Clarence gave them one.
Clarence even got Happy's approval, which is saying a lot.
Of course Sly would find this ancient law that would save Cabe. It's fitting. Come on, where's the fun in a case from a decade ago? Go weird or go home!
Toby: Are you ready to take one for the team?
Florence: I've already made myself absolutely clear that I am not a part of this team...but fine.
It was also really thrilling watching Toby and Florence attempt to out-run the cops to get Sly what he needed. Toby wanted to be a daredevil, and being tackled by a cop in a library after breaking a display definitely qualifies as daredevil-like behavior.
Florence took one for the team, and hopefully, this means everyone will be more open to her potentially coming on board more permanently.
