ABC Sets Midseason Schedule: What's on the Move?
Paul Dailly at .ABC is the latest network to firm up its midseason schedule, and there are some shockers.
For a start, American Idol will take up residence on two nights instead of one. The network previously stated the show will air Sunday nights.
But it will now air on Monday nights in addition to Sundays. This move also means that Dancing With the Stars will return later than usual.
The veteran dancing competition series will debut an all-athlete season April 30.
On the scripted side of things, Quantico will be joining the Shondaland ladies on Thursday nights after Scandal wraps its seventh and final season.
The rejigged version of the espionage drama will bow April 26. The Grey's Anatomy spinoff will also take on the 9/8c slot when it debuts March 22.
The series has yet to receive a title, and it's getting ridiculous at this stage. It is taking over Scandal's slot so that the soapy drama will wrap up an hour later.
In a surprising move, fellow Shondaland drama, For The People is missing out on a spot in TGIT. Instead, the series will air on Tuesdays at 10/9c from March 13.
That slot has been problematic for the network over the years, so time will tell whether it will be able to defy the odds.
The network has also slotted in Deception, Alec, Inc, The Crossing and Splitting Up Together.
