Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies) and Kerry Washington (Scandal) have been tapped to star in and produce a new TV series titled Little Fires Everywhere.

The series has yet to find a home, but given that it has two of the most in-demand actresses on board, it's only a matter of time before it's snapped up.

The new series is based on the book of the same name by Celeste NG. It follows the division of an upmarket town in the aftermath of the adoption of a Chinese-American baby.

Liz Tigelaar will write, executive produce and serve as showrunner on the red-hot series. You may remember Liz from The CW's Life Unexpected

It's definitely going to wind up being a deal worth a considerable amount of money. Witherspoon is coming off a great year after the success of Big Little Lies, which won a string of awards and landed a second season renewal.

The series will hail from Witherspoon's production company which she co-owns with Otter Media. It was formed in 2016 as a destination to tell female-driven stories.
