"Señor Clean" immediately begins after Karl's death, with the perfect balance of comedy and drama to remind us all what we love about this show.

On The Last Man on Earth Season 4 Episode 12, Tandy tries to develop a deeper relationship with Gail, but all of their fun together ends with a classic Tandy misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, Todd and Melissa argue after she lied to the group about Jasper's whereabouts.

The first half of this was hilarious. I was laughing out loud frequently, something I have not been doing in some of the more recent episodes.

I particularly enjoyed Karl's funeral. Tandy's eulogy, if you can call it that, was perfect.

Karl, we send you our thoughts and prayers as you hurdle, screaming on your terrifying to hell. Heck, you’re probably chewing on Bill Cosby’s gall bladder right now and washing it down with a warm cup of diarrhea.

I also loved watching Tandy squirm as he listened to Gail's praise about how much he has changed.

Reading the titles of his notecards (such as "A Short Straw, a Long You're Welcome") and then watching him rip them up made me chuckle.

The best moment, though, was Todd singing "Hungry Eyes" while Gail played the song on the accordion. It was the perfect choice to describe Karl's cannibalism, and it was a fitting end to his weird life.

The second half of the episode had funny moments too, but it certainly had more drama than the first part.

This show has always excelled at walking that fine line between comedy, drama, and sentimentality, and "Señor Clean" was a perfect example of that.

I knew the Gail and Tandy bonding would end quickly.

As expected, it ended with Tandy completely misreading the situation and jumping to conclusions.

It was nice, however, to see the two of them interact as friends for a few scenes.

I love Gail, but she can often be hateful and condescending to Tandy.

There are times when he acts like a child and deserves it. I think she goes too far with it sometimes, though.

Because of this, Will Forte and Mary Steenburgen never get to have kind or fun interactions.

Their drinking date was heartwarming, and it was delightful to see this new partnership between the cast members.

The scene between Melissa and Jasper made me emotional because they were adorable together.

I miss Jasper with the gang, and seeing him so comfortable with Melissa made me happy.

I am glad he trusts her and is able to talk to her and laugh with her.

I won’t tell them where you are, if you don’t want me to. I’ll just keep bringing you Pop Tarts. Such a healthy diet!

He rarely spoke to anyone when he was with them every day, but he seemed genuinely happy around Melissa.

Melissa also looked happy with Jasper, which she has not been with the rest of the gang recently.

I would gleefully watch a whole episode of the two of them meeting in their secret spot.

When Melissa told Todd that she wanted him to be a father, I feared she would agree to be a mom when she did not really want to be. I have expressed that fear in previous reviews of mine, but I was happy to see that she had other plans for Todd.

Too often in the media, we see women who do not want to be mothers reverse their position to please their partners. Some women do not want to be mothers, and that is okay.

Okay. So, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, and I’ve come to a decision. I want you to have a baby.

There are plenty of reasons for a woman not wanting children, and their stories are just as valid as women who do want children.

I love that Melissa has come up with a solution that gives Todd what he wants without compromising who she is.

I don't know if Erica will agree to Melissa's compromise, though. That is a lot of pressure to put on someone, and it will probably be an awkward situation for all involved.

If she says yes, she and Todd will share something that he and Melissa do not have.

Even though Melissa does not want the child and came up with the idea herself, it is still something that could come between them later.

If Erica says no, she is keeping Todd from having what he wants. She also has to live with them and interact with them on a daily basis.

"Señor Clean" was not a particularly memorable installment of the series, but it was an enjoyable half hour.

I am looking forward to hearing Erica's answer to Todd and Melissa's question in the next one! If I was Erica, I certainly would not agree to have the child, but this show is constantly surprising me.
