NBC has finally confirmed the fate of some of its longer running series.

The peacock network has renewed Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD and Law & Order: SVU for additional seasons.

All four will return to the network during the 2018-2019 season.

A Situation Turns Dangerous - Chicago Fire

The news for the four above shows is not surprising when you consider the fact that all four rank among the top seven scripted series on the network.

Law & Order: SVU is heading into Season 20. The current season is averaging 6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49.

The show's ratings swell almost 60 percent when Live + 7 measures are factored in. Chicago Fire, meanwhile, is down almost 30 percent year-to-year.

The show moved to Thursday nights this season and is averaging 6 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. Despite the erosion, it is still a solid performer.

Chicago PD underwent a lot of changes this year, and that was in part down to Sophia Bush's decision to exit the series.

It is down 12 percent in the demo to average 6.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

Meanwhile, Chicago Med is actually right on par with last season's results. It is averaging 6.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

The four shows join the previously renewed  This Is Us, Will & Grace, The Good Place, Good Girls, Superstore and AP Bio.

Law & Order: True Crime, The Blacklist, The Brave, Rise, Great News, Blindspot, Timeless, and Champions are still awaiting word on whether they will be back.
