Big Brother Season 20: Silicon Valley Theme Revealed!

at .

Earlier this week, CBS confirmed who would be competing for the $500,000 grand prize on Big Brother Season 20, but there was no word on what the big theme will be.

Until now.

The theme will be inspired by Silicon Valley and will focus on the houseguests being given unprecedented power or punishment as a result of it.

“BIG BROTHER has always been about innovation, and this season, technology, interactivity and powerful upgrades will give a charge to the Houseguests’ game,” said Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, Executive Producers, Big Brother in a statement.

“This house is bound to inspire some state-of-the-art strategies, forcing the players to make inspired decisions and form collaborative relationships if they hope to advance through the summer!”

As previously reported, Big Brother debuts Wednesday, June 27 at 8/7c with a two-hour premiere, and it sounds like the action will be kicking off from the get-go.

There will be three challenges on premiere night, with CBS revealing that they will yield power and punishments for the houseguests.

The "BB App Store" will make its first appearance on the first Sunday episode of the season, airing July 1. The tech-themed twist focuses on America getting the players trending, and it means giving the players things that will make them either sink or swim.

It sure sounds like the producers are bringing out the big guns to celebrate the show reaching this milestone. There's still no word yet on whether there will be returning players, but we will likely get more clarity on premiere night.
