Colony Season 3 Episode 7 Review: A Clean, Well-Lighted Place

at .

On Colony Season 3 Episode 7, we're in Seattle with the Bowmans. A decent amount of time has passed.

The Bowman's marriage is in serious trouble, as Charlie's death has taken its toll on Will and Katie.

I like the way the storyline is weaving in Wayne Brady's character, Evertt Kynes. I can't decide if he's good or bad, but we know how he created what is now the Seattle where the Bowmans are living.

A New Home - Colony

Gracie and Bram seem to be adapting to Seattle life very well. Bram is pretty much Gracie's parent and sneaking off to party at night. Gracie goes to school, and Bram works. It's as close to a normal life as they've seen in a long time.

It's too bad it won't last.

Katie and Will may be living normally, but Will isn't feeling it. It's all for show

Everyone grieves personally, and it looks like Will and Katie are on entirely different paths. They aren't grieving together. In fact, they aren't together at all.

A lot of people have disappeared in this colony.

Will

They barely see each other or speak, and even Bram and Gracie think they're headed for divorce.

On the surface, Katie seems to be adapting well. She has a job at the refugee intake post.

Even though she's playing the Seattle game, the old Resistance Katie is still burning inside. At first, it looks like she's a sellout, and that's likely what Will thinks, but when she helps the Winslows by greasing the wheels and pushing them through, Katie shows her true colors.

Remember, Katie is good at play-acting, and I think she's using her position to, yes, try and do some good, but also to keep her finger on the pulse of Seattle.

Poor Katie. She thought she was doing a service by helping the Winslows board that bus, but that hope died when she walked into their empty apartment.

Do you think they're going to get a divorce?

Gracie

Now the old Katie will resurface with more passion because she was emotionally invested in that family. She's not going to be able to live with herself knowing she was the reason they walked on the bus and disappeared.

At least she knows that Michelle co-worker person is full of it and Katie can get to the truth.

Will tried to tell her. He said Seattle's just another colony, but Katie didn't want to hear it.

She doesn't want to accept that she brought her remaining two children into yet another dangerous situation. Katie had to believe Seattle was a sanctuary as advertised, but now the truth hit her in the face.

Katie in her New Role - Colony Season 3 Episode 7

The Winslows' disappearance may save the Bowman family.

We knew Will would never acclimate to Seattle life. We knew he'd never schmooz and play nice.

He got what he deserved.

Will

Even if he weren't in the throes of grief, Will still wouldn't play by the rules.

Will's looking at Katie like he has no idea who the hell she is anymore because, to him, she's one of them now.

So, Will drinks too much and drives a cab around pretending to do the job assigned to him. All the while, he's doing what he can to stay true to himself in the foreign land.

Will never wanted to be in Seattle. He did it for Gracie, and he stays for his family's happiness.

Broussard showed up at just the right time. I wonder how he got in there? Surely, it wasn't through the welcome center, or Katie would've seen him.

Now Will's going to have a partner to find out if Seattle is indeed a safe place to be.

Bram and Katie - Colony Season 3 Episode 7

Spoiler alert: it's not.

Katie knows that now. Hopefully, she'll share her findings with Will, and he will tell her about Broussard. They could all work together -- just like old times.

Somehow that seems too easy, and I think we're going to have to jump through a few more hoops before we see the three working together.

For now, Katie will probably investigate her findings on the down-low, pretending to be dumb to the fact Seattle is shipping off entire families to who knows where.

The factory? Probably.

Somebody has to build those weapons and a solid defense system.

Is that any way to greet an old friend? You're a hard man to find, Mr. Dalton.

Broussard

Everyone in the colony blocks freaked out in the past about being sent to the factory. Fool people into thinking they're getting on a bus to their new house where they can live out their happy lives, and you have cooperation.

Maybe that's the secret sauce behind Everett's Seattle design.

It's reminiscent of Nazis leading unsuspecting innocent people to slaughter.

What do you think, Colony fans? Where are the buses going? Do you think Will and Katie will pull it together? Were you as happy to finally see Broussard as I was?

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!
