Daria, The Real World Revivals in the Works at MTV Studios

MTV is looking to bring back some of its most popular series of the past, but there's a catch.

According to Deadline, the network has launched MTV Studios, which will focus on developing and producing, spinoffs, reboots, and revivals of MTV's huge catalog of programming from over the years.

That means the shows that fall under MTV Studios can then be sold out to other destinations as opposed to airing on any of the Viacom owned channels.

One of the first big projects in the works is Daria & Jodie, a reboot of one of MTV's biggest hits, Daria.

Daria originally aired from 1997-2002 and lasted five seasons. It focused on Daria Morgendorffer, a suburban teenager who assessed the world around her and studied the various cliques at her high school.

Daria originally appeared in Beavis and Butt-Head before landing her spinoff.

A revival of The Real World is also in the works. Despite never being officially canceled by MTV, the most recent run concluded at the beginning of 2017 and had the lowest ratings of the franchise.

The new iteration is being pitched to streaming platforms, and it would be a huge surprise if it did not find a home.

It debuted back in 1992 and quickly became a hit because it put young people from all walks of life together in a house together temporarily.

The series received acclaim because it touched on issues that were not being explored elsewhere.

It was groundbreaking, but the format was changed so much by the end, it was a shell of the show that viewers fell in love with.

Will it be able to appeal to a new generation with a new streaming home?

We're not so sure, but stranger things have happened, we guess.

What do you think about this?
