Former Blue Bloods actress, Amy Carlson is returning to the small screen.

Just over a year after the actress bowed out of the CBS drama series, she has landed a guest-starring role on NBC's midseason thriller, The Village.

TV Line first reported the casting news, but there are no further details about who she will be playing at this stage.

Amy Carlson Promotes Blue Bloods

"Welcome to the Village, an apartment building in Brooklyn that appears like any other from the outside but is quite unique inside," reads the official description of the series.

"The people who reside here have built a bonded family of friends and neighbors. Sarah's a nurse and single mom raising a creative teen; Gabe's a young law student who got a much older and unexpected roommate; Ava must secure the future of her young, U.S.-born son when ICE comes knocking; Nick's a veteran who's returned from war; and the heart and soul of the building, Ron and Patricia, have captivating tales all their own."

"These are the hopeful, heartwarming and challenging stories of life that prove family is everything - even if it's the one you make with the people around you."

Amy Carlson Promotes The Commuter

The cast includes Moran Atias (Tyrant), Dominic Chianese (The Sopranos), Warren Christie (Alphas), Frankie Faison (The Wire), Jerod Haynes, Daren Kagasoff (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Michaela McManus (SEAL Team), Lorraine Toussaint (Rosewood), and Grace Van Dien.

Mike Daniels is on board to write and executive produce, while Minkie Spiro will direct and executive produce the pilot. Jessica Rhoades also executive produces.

Carlson appeared on Blue Bloods from 2010-2017 as Linda Regan. It was revealed on Blue Bloods Season 8 Episode 1 that the character died following a Medevac crash.

"Linda’s death wasn’t your fault. She was doing her job [as a nurse]. She died doing what she loved,” Danny’s therapist said, confirming her grim fate. “She died in a helicopter crash, airlifting her patient.”

While fans were up in arms about Linda's death, the plot thickened on Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 1, which strongly suggested that the crash was planned by Mexican cartel member, Louis Delgado.

“First your house burns up and then a chopper goes down — that’s some pretty bad mojo you carry around,” Delgado said to Danny after being brought in for questioning after an unrelated incident.

If you watch Blue Bloods online, you already know that Delgado said he was the one who set Danny's home alight, so it seemed to tease the possibility that Linda's death might have been no accident.

As for Carlson, she released the following statement shortly after her final episode went out last year.
