Party of Five Reboot Finds Its Leads!

The long-gestating Party of Five reboot has just inched a lot closer to reality.

Freeform has announced that Brandon Larracuente, Emily Tosta, Niko Guardado, and Elle Paris Legaspi will lead the cast of the proposed series.

Brandon Larracuente

This new take on the series comes from original series creators Christopher Keyser and Amy Lippman and focuses on five Buendia children who find themselves facing a future without their parents.

The reason for that is that the children's parents are deported to Mexico, leaving the children to fend for themselves in an ever-changing country.

Larracuente will take on the role of the eldest son, Emilio. He returns home to take the wheel of his family when everything goes south.

An aspiring musician, he will try to look after his family while simultaneously trying to get his big break int he music industry.

Emily Tosta

Tosta is on board as Lucia, a teenager who is desperate to attend university, but feels like all of that is put on the backburner after her parents run into trouble.

“She quickly becomes resistant to authority, politically radicalized and rebellious to her presumed duties as the oldest daughter.”

Guardado will play Beto, the second-eldest sibling whose life is changed forever after his parents are deported. Despite being described as a hit with the ladies, he finds himself taking on a more responsible role in the life of his siblings.

Finally, Legaspi will play Valentina, who finds herself questioning her future.

“Her vulnerability will require her older siblings to step up and offer the structure and support that they may not be wholly equipped to provide.”

The original Party of Five aired on Fox between 1994 to 2000 and focused on five siblings who become orphans following the death of their parents.

The pilot was ordered back in September for the reboot, and it's hard to imagine it not making the cut for a series order.

The original was a beloved series, and this new iteration could resonate with a whole new generation.
