Midnight, Texas Season 2 Episode 4 Review: I Put a Spell On You

Who wouldn't want parents like Lem and Olivia?

Olivia might have balked at the idea of becoming a mom on Midnight, Texas Season 2 Episode 4, but it didn't take her long to form a bond with Mary -- and that might have changed her mind completely.

Fighting Lem - Midnight, Texas Season 2 Episode 4

We've known for some time that Olivia had a rough childhood, and the idea of having kids wasn't at the top of Olivia's mind.

But when Mary entered their lives, Olivia found that becoming a mom wasn't so bad.

Even though she was only a "mom' to Mary for a couple of days, she formed a quick bond with the girl.

Olivia experienced all the fun of being a parent without the drama, although she did find the hours of toddler Mary a little challenging -- as most parents do. Maybe she should have limited the junk food.

Although Olivia didn't seem too thrilled about her new responsibilities, she was able to connect better when Mary became a teen.

Olivia doesn't give herself enough credit. She'd be a great mom in all ways but especially as a mom of a teenage girl -- think of all the shopping and fashion parties to be had!

She's a good role model, even if she doesn't realize it, and she made a strong impression on Mary.

Olivia's words of advice about being strong are going to stay with Mary forever. Everything Mary experienced with Olivia is going to stay with her forever.

And Mary left a strong impression on Olivia.

Olivia doesn't show her vulnerable side much -- if ever -- but it came pouring out after Mary left with her dad.

A lot of it had to do with the fact that the whole experience opened up some old wounds she had with her parents.

Her mom spent more time drugging than being a mom, and her dad? Well, we still don't know much about that relationship.

Still, Olivia delved into those wounds and was able to do so because of Lem and her trust in him.

Olivia has a habit of putting up a wall and burying the things she doesn't want to deal with, but Lem has been breaking down that wall piece by piece for years.

Mary coming into their lives practically blew that wall into smithereens.

Olivia and Lem are going to make great parents when the time comes, but first Olivia needs to clean out her wounds.

She's a lucky woman to have Lem by her side.

Lem is incredible.

He proved that he's not the guy to bet against when he went challenged other supernaturals at the gypsy fight ring.

Protecting a Newcomer - Midnight, Texas

How many supernaturals did Lem fight without hardly any effort?

Even when Lem looked like he was down for the count, it was only part of the act to stretch things out until the other Midnighters were able to free Mary from her cage because he wiped the floor once he got the signal from Manfred that it was time to go.

Manfred is headed into dangerous territory now that he and Patience have crossed the line.

Fiji may have done her test on Patience, but I still don't trust her.

Think about it. Patience did the same spell on Mary's grandmother, and that didn't turn out as expected, did it?

There's something off about Patience, and Manfred is an idiot for bringing her into the inner circle so quickly.

He barely knows her.

And isn't it strange that Kai has been gone for so long? I'm not buying the story of him being out of town on a conference and her all worried he's having affairs.

That was a planned thing for her to make her moves on Manfred -- which she did exceedingly well.

Lovers on the Way - Midnight, Texas Season 2 Episode 4

Manfred just stepped into a pile of crap, and he's going to have a hard time cleaning it off his shoes now.

Speaking of crap, Fiji and Bobo's storyline is so out of sync with everything else going on in Midnight.

It wasn't a surprise that he was going to fall in love with Fiji even after she gave him the potion, but her turning him into a dog was ridiculous.

I hope Bobo runs away never to be seen again -- along with this horrible storyline.

Over to you!

What did you think of "I Put a Spell on You'?

Is Patience all she's cracked up to be or is she up to no good?

Are you done with Fiji and Bobo's love story or are you all in?

Will Lem and Olivia step into the parenthood ring?

Olivia: Why did Manfred bring Patience with him?
Lem: Why does that bother you?
Olivia: Well, for one, her name is Patience.

When people like me find a place like this, we tend to stay.
