We have some bad news, This Is Us Fanatics!

NBC has confirmed the hit drama will be preempted on February 5 in order to accommodate President Trump's State of the Union address, which was initially supposed to air January 29.

The delay for Trump's speech was due to the government shutdown, and now This Is Us will return to the schedule on February 12.

In turn, this means This Is Us Season 3 will now end one week later on April 2. While this is not good news for fans, it might spell good news for new drama, The Village.

The Village will launch behind This Is Us on March 12, and will benefit from one of the strongest drama lead-ins on broadcast.

When This Is Us wraps, The Village will be moving into the 9/8c slot, allowing New Amsterdam to get off the bench and back on to the air.

A similar scenario occurred in 2017, and This Is Us was bumped an extra week than it was supposed to.

As for what the other networks will do on February 5:

ABC will air new episodes of American Housewife, and The Kids Are Alright, but black-ish, Splitting Up Together, and The Rookie will be preempted.

Fox will duck the competition by airing a rerun of freshman sensation, The Masked Singer, meaning Lethal Weapon and The Gifted are off the air.

CBS has not confirmed its plans for the big night, but given that NCIS, FBI, and NCIS: New Orleans were off the air this week, there's a good chance all three will not be airing on February 5.

As for The CW, it typically veers away from this type of programming, so look for The Flash and Roswell, New Mexico to continue airing as normal.
