Fox is not ready to part ways with some of its most popular animated series.

The network has handed out renewals to Family Guy and Bob's Burgers.

Neither show was in any danger, and both were expected to be back for the 2019-20 TV season.

Still, it's good to know that additional seasons of these two shows are officially in the works.

The renewal for Family Guy is for the 18th season, while Bob's Burgers has secured its 10th season.

It's crazy to think that Family Guy was once canceled back in 2003.

Back then, it seemed like all hope was lost and that fans were going to be left with just three seasons.

Family Guy Season 17 is averaging 2.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the demo in live + same day figures.

This puts the series right on par with last season. Steady is the new up in the TV business, so there's that.

Family Guy airs Sundays on Fox in an animation domination block. It's unclear whether the network will keep that Sunday line-up intact next season.

It would make sense to, but a lot of changes are coming to Fox.

As for Bob's Burgers, it has moved to a later slot this season but is averaging 2.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

It is currently up 20 percent year-to-year. It is the fifth highest-rated scripted series on Fox.

The join The Simpsons which was renewed last week for two seasons.

While many thought we would get more Fox renewals during TCA, there wasn't that much news to go around.

The animated shows have a longer production time, so their renewals were probably ironed out well in advance for that reason.
