The Young and the Restless paid tribute to one of the show's most beloved stars on Friday. 

That star was Kristoff St. John who passed away on Sunday at the age of 52. 

The show's official Twitter account shared the video, and it showed the late actor talking about taking on the role of Neil Winters for over 25 years. 

"Today and every day we remember an unforgettable member of the #YR family," the show's statement read.

"From his time in Genoa City to the moments behind-the-scenes on set, Kristoff St. John will always be in our hearts. ❤️ Please join us in sending love to the incredible man behind Neil Winters."

“The Young and the Restless will forever value the legacy of Kristoff St. John in his portrayal of Neil Winters. Beginning in late April, #YR will feature a storyline that pays tribute to both Kristoff and his character," it continued.

The video was released just two days after St. John's final episode aired, but it's great to know that the show will further pay tribute to both the character and the actor with a storyline which is slated to hit the air in April. 

Starring on the show for 25 years, Kristoff earned himself two Daytime Emmys and countless NAACP Image Awards for his work. 

St. John was filming the show in Los Angeles when he was found by a friend. It has been reported that he never recovered from his son's suicide back in 2017. 

There are also reports that suggest St. John's death could be the result of alcohol over-consumption. 

An autopsy followed on Monday, but the coroner opted to defer revealing the cause of death until toxicology results are available. 

The celebrity world has been rocked by Kristoff St. John's passing, and several have come forward with their thoughts on it. 

S.W.A.T star Shemar Moore released an emotional video on Instagram in which he revealed that he had "lost my brother."

"I lost my brother yesterday. I've never had a brother. But you were my brother. You showed me the way. You were my mentor, my inspiration.

"You showed me what true talent was. You showed me what humility was.

"I love you. I hate this. I love you. But I'm going to celebrate all your good... Kristoff, sleep, man. Find your peace."

St. John's fiance, Kseniya Mikhaleva, was also heartbroken and took to social media to reveal her thoughts on the matter. 

"How did it happen ??? How ??? Why did you leave so early ???? and left me alone ..... I can’t believe. you were everything to me," she wrote, adding:

"You were a loving father, a loving man,.....how love?? we should doing a lot of things in future......"

We extend our thoughts and prayers to Kristoff St. John's friends and family during this difficult time.
