Russian Doll: Is There More Life in the Netflix Series?

Another loop is on the cards for Natasha Lyonne.

Netflix has renewed Russian Doll for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Eight new episodes have been ordered, but there's no telling when the next season will premiere on the streaming service.

The renewal was revealed by Lyonne and Netflix vp originals Cindy Holland during their appearance at Recode's Code Conference Tuesday in Arizona.

"Same show, just weirder," Lyonne said.

"The character is a coder so it would be appropriate to have this be the time and place to say, yes. So very much yes, I would love to do [a second season]."

No details have been revealed about Russian Doll Season 2, but it will likely pick up from where Russian Doll Season 1 concluded.

The series focused on  a woman named Nadia (Lyonne) on her journey as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City.

She dies repeatedly, always restarting at the same moment at the party, as she tries to figure out what is happening to her. The freshman season concluded with a lot of twists that should shake up the dynamics.

The series also starred Greta Lee as Maxine, Nadia's friend, who throws her 36th birthday party, Yul Vazquez as John Reyes, a real estate agent and Nadia's ex-boyfriend who is currently in the process of divorcing his wife, and  Charlie Barnett as Alan Zaveri, a man who is also stuck in a time loop like Nadia.

This is some good news from Netflix which has been on quite the cancellation spree of late, ending comedies such as One Day at a Time and Santa Clarita Diet.
