Scott Wolf Leads Tributes to Everwood Co-Star Stephanie Niznik: 'I'm Lucky to Have Known Her'

Scott Wolf, who played Dr. Jake Hartman on Everwood, is paying tribute to his former co-star, the late Stephanie Niznik, who recently passed away at the age of 52.

Niznik died on June 23, and news of her passing was first announced on Friday. No cause of death has been reported.

“This is heartbreaking,” Wolf shared on Twitter.

“She was so kind, and so fun to work with. I’m lucky to have known her. Rest In Peace Stephanie.”

Niznik played Nina Feeney on all four seasons of the WB drama series. Wolf's Jake was Nina's love interest during the show's final two seasons.

In the show's series finale Nina ultimately chose to be with Treat Williams' Dr. Andy Brown.

Vivien Cardone, who played Andy’s daughter Delia, has also opened up about Niznik’s passing.

“An absolutely beautiful soul gone far too soon,” she said. “So grateful to have met, worked with, and learned from such a strong, confident, kind, incredible woman. You will be so dearly missed Steph.”

Everwood creator Greg Berlanti and showrunner Rina Mimoun released a joint statement in which they pay their respects to the talented actress.

“Everwood was more than a television show. It was a family,” the statement reads.

“We recently lost the mother of our tribe, Stephanie Niznik. Stephanie played Nina, the next door neighbor to Andy Brown, and the woman who helped raise his children as he struggled with being a single father."

"She continued that role offscreen by being an incredible friend, a nurturing mother figure to our younger cast members and an artist who brought warmth, compassion and humor to every episode and our set."

"Everyone who was lucky enough to know and work with her will miss her dearly.”

Sarah Drew, who played Hannah Rogers on the series echoed those sentiments:

"So Heartbroken to hear about the passing of Stephanie Niznik," she said via Twitter.

"We grew to be a tight knit community during our time on #everwood. Stephanie was a loving, open hearted friend and a bright light on set. I can’t believe she is gone. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻"

Brenda Strong, who was also part of the show's talented cast, wrote the following:

"I. Am. In. Shock. So sad to hear that Stephanie Niznik, Who Played Nina on Everwood, is Dead at 52."
