Alaric 'Rick' Saltzman

Bio

Alaric Saltzman comes into The Vampire Diaries as Mystic Falls High School's new history teacher. It is later found out that he was married to Isobel, who is even later discovered to be Elena's birth mother.

He joins Stefan, Damon, and the crew in protecting Elena and hunting down the bad vampires.
