Amanda Dillon is the daughter of Trevor Dillon and ex-convict Janet Green. At the time of her conception, Trevor was married to Janet's identical twin Natalie. That's always awkward.
A jealous Janet, wanting Trevor for herself, threw Natalie down a well, impersonated her sister and made love to Trevor. Janet gave birth to Amanda, then was sent to prison for killing Will Cortlandt. The infant Amanda spent the first few years of her life regarding Natalie as her mother.
