Ian Somerhalder is not only utterly mouth-watering but completely brilliant as Damon. Admittedly, he has the best role together with the best of the script but it's his own personal qualities that light up the screen. Definitely the thinking girl's crumpet!

Those eyes. That smirk. That calculating ruthlessness. Damon embraces the dark side and wins points simply for not being emo about his eternal damnation. In simple words, he's HOT. I wonder why he's not the hero in this series. I mean, come on he's way more handsome than Stefan, has a mysterious sexy personalitty. EVERYTHING. I like him with Elena more than with stefan.
If it wasn't for Ian Somerhalder, I don't think I would have loved the series.
