Haven Season 5 Episode 2 Review: Jennifer's Body

I actually doubt Duke is going to be super upset with Nathan over this, just because with Jennifer gone, he probably thinks Nathan is just fooling himself. So, for at least an episode or two before we (the audience) figures out if Audrey is really there or if this is Mara tricking Nathan, I bet Duke will be the force holding the townspeople back from going at them with pitchforks. It'll be until someone thinks of the fact that he is a Crocker and if he kills Mara, that might end everything.

Haven Season 5 Episode 2 Review: Jennifer's Body

I like how Dwight has more to do this season. He has improved as an actor plus they need someone to hold things together and he is the only objective one. Am not buying Audrey peeking through just yet Think it'd mara manipulating gullible Nathan. Audrey I'd probably still there but don't think that was her oved as an actor

Haven Season 5 Episode 2 Review: Jennifer's Body

As to the relative weight of the first two episodes - in Canada they were shown as a single, two hour opener to the season. In retrospect, "See No Evil" definitely feels like the set-up half of a two part episode, and if they'd been aired as a single unit here would have made a much stronger - and better received - start to the season.

Haven Season 5 Episode 2 Review: Jennifer's Body

I did not like this season if Mara is taking over. You could have imagine other trouble , but Audrey, Nathan and Duke are the ones that made Haven loved. Taking one away for a season is too much. Please bring back the trio as they were and find other trouble.
It was tearing my heart to see Duke learning about Jennifer's death.

This has been a thought provoking season and while a season 2 would be welcomed I think the season finale ended in a good place. I'm glad Matt Passmore didn't get shot again in a season finale. The revelation about Simon was an interesting twist but he just doesn't seem as relevant now that Grace and Neil are finally connecting and trying to work something out, or at least not grow further apart.
And i now think Neil deserves most of the blame for the breakdown in their marriage. There I said it, but I just don't agree with The decisions Grace has made. Neil was good reading other people but clueless when it came to Grace. He was good with clients and the women Adrianna set him up with so why couldn't, or wouldn't, he relate to Grace. I now see Grace as a complex person that was very lonely both emotionally and creatively.
I did expect Grace to confide in Stephanie and was surprised that Stephanie was so anti Neil: what happened there?
Does anyone remember Anika? I actually liked where her storyline went. She was the product of a dysfunctional marriage and had important issues to deal with without parent she could talk too. While the contract was not good for her, she has taken control of her life.
Adrianna's husband was a welcome addition. No wonder he stays away from her.
Thanks for the reviews Carissa and the great discussion they have promoted.

Thanks for the interview. Season 4 seems exciting.
Though got bumpy seas ahead for my faves Emma and Hook but i sure hope and think they will weather any storm and come out stronger together as a team as they have always done. We've seen them transcend realms, seperate from each other, him finding her, coming back to her - i'm here for the bumpy roads but overcoming them together. Frozen relationships will be lovely to watch unfold as well :)

I enjoyed it all the way up to the last part. The writers are cheating. Mallory's husband did not have Neil's phone number. Simon did not know where Grace lived until he followed her home the other day. Plus ransacking Simon's apartment I doubt Simon would have written Grace or Neil's address down. Sean is disappointing me as he did in "Nip Tuck". Also Grace did tell Neil about Milan which we weren't privy to. Nice way to put everyone on the wrong track.
So does Mallory show up and stop her husband. Does Simon come to the rescue on his Motorcycle. Does he do what Carissa suggests? Does he not see them in the deep end and leave. I did learn one thing. Now, I know why Grace doesn't talk to Stephanie. What an airhead. USA you better renew for another season.

Satisfaction Season 1 Episode 10 Review: The Perfect Time

Carissa, you wrote that many people find it difficult to understand how a woman as attractive and talented as Grace could lose her self-esteem during the course of a 20 year relationship. Because of that, many people seem to have little sympathy for her. I have a great deal of sympathy for her because Neil and Grace remind me of myself and my wife (minus the infidelity and escorts), and a lot of other couples that I know. We were both raised in traditional families with traditional values. I was taught from day one that I was supposed to work hard and provide well for my family. My wife was taught that she was supposed to support her husband and her family. While we are a very modern couple and well educated, we couldn't escape the roles that we were supposed to embrace. So I worked hard like Neil and really lost out on being there at times for my wife and family. My wife worked hard as well as taking care of me and our family, like Grace. My wife put her dreams on hold, like Grace, and it did affect her self-esteem. I think the problem is more prevalent than we'd like to admit as a society and that's the reason this show has really affected people. Like Grace and Neil, we're both changing and trying to rediscover ourselves, and its been a good thing for us although there have been difficult times. I don't condone Neil and Grace's choices but I think that people sometimes have to risk things if they want to stay together and grow. The alternative is to maintain the status quo which I know is just a slow path to frustration and unhappiness. I hope there is a second season because it's clear that Neil and Grace have a lot more to go through if they are going to be happy. They've re-entered a honeymoon stage, but they're talking and they both realize that they love each other deeply and want to be together. I'm happy for them because I'm a romantic. But the therapist is right and their secrets are going to be exposed and hopefully, that will be therapeutic rather than problematic, in the long run. I have to mention one last thing. I don't necessarily agree with you that Simon does not have any nefarious feelings toward Neil. He hasn't approach Grace yet to tell her about Neil's assignations but I'm pretty sure that he'll do exactly that when the time comes because he's desperate to have Grace. I can sympathize with Grace and Neil. I have zero sympathy and understanding for Simon. It's not his choice of occupation that bothers me, it's his complete selfishness, and disregard for Neil and Anika's happiness. He's willing to destroy their happiness in order to satisfy his desires. People are probably saying (after reading my comments) what about what Grace did. Didn't she do the same thing. I don't think so and that's why I can sympathize with her. I think Grace did risk her marriage in order to save it. I think Neil did the same thing.
