  1. Grey's Anatomy Episode Preview: I Can't See ...

I think it's the fertility drugs. She did mention they had upped the dosage so perhaps this is the side-effect?
  2. Grey's Anatomy Review: "Golden Hour"

I'm also glad that finally.. Mer had a character-focused episode. I enjoyed those in season six when Derek had his episode and Arizona had hers.

I wonder if Stacy wrote those as well, because, seriously? brava!
  3. Grey's Anatomy Review: "Golden Hour"

    @Smriti

I totally agree with your allusions to the first episode of GA. I noticed the elements of back when they were interns: now they're at the same resident year that Bailey when they were first introduced.

I certainly thought it was awesome that it took four years for Bailey to get caught by Derek. "Ya mind moving this wagon? You're blocking me in." HA. Stacy did a really good job.. hell, an excellent job to weave all these elments in when they were interns.

Something I noticed that you hadn't pointed out was how Mer really picks up on things. Remember when the baby turned blue? She hunted down Burke for a consult - it wasn't exactly the same, but that dynamic of Mer going after Altman to make sure that something was really wrong with the patient. Another aspect of that was when Burke and Cristina was at dinner and they rushed the guy at the restaurant to SGH for the same condition, but they caught it in time out of pure happenstance.

Was it just me or did anyone else really enjoy the ad-hoc scrubbing-in in the elevator? The purell, the tying the hair back, the scrub cap, the way that Altman's heels were scrubbed while she was cutting? To me that entire scene was just golden.

I honestly don't think it was out of character that Callie was kind of bitchy to Meredith. She had a point: had Callie known it was Adele, she would have prioritized as Adele is a VIP-patient. It was another reminder during Meredith's intern year when Callie yelled at Mer to "move her ass" during S2 when Petey shot up the restaurant.

I am loving Lucy more and more. The way she was watching Alex shows that he is growing on her. I did find it strange that it was Alex doing the surgery; yes it was a peds case but it was an ortho case. So maybe Callie or another ortho attending/sr. resident will do the ortho portion and Alex is the peds surg support? Either way, I knew Alex was going to give up his seats: he's far too invested in peds surgery and into kids, much to his chagrin, to walk away like that. In Robbins' words, "You go Karev."
  4. Grey's Anatomy Episode Preview: I Can't See ...

Wow Stark is back? Crazy. Guess he's still interim chief of peds surgery.
  5. Which Glee Couple is Breaking Up?

The Samtana connection won't last long. Santana was never really the relationship type. She flies solo, even when she was "with" Puck, so this won't last either. Additionally, Sam is a bit too much of a boyscout to be on Santana's level.

As she puts it, she's "from Lima Heights. That's how we do."

It'll be entertaining for that Salsa spice to hit the resident Man-bangs Blonde, but I can see it being something that'll have Sam question his prospects for love and perhaps a crisis of confidence.

Remember the body-issue episode? As built and ripped as he is, he's insecure.

I think because Jane Lynch let the cat out of the bag with Sam being Kurt's bf, RM is throwing curveballs our way. RM, if nothing else, enjoys the surprise and hates when it's spoiled. Remember Idina "not" being Rachel's mom? How exactly did tht tur out? lol

A part of me believes that Sam and Kurt will get together at some point since Kurt and Blaine have a more friendship/mentorship relation with one another. Yes, it'll be cute, but it's too obvious. RM has shown a trend not to do the obvious.
  6. Grey's Anatomy Musical: A Callie Hallucination?

And just to comment on the age factor, the actors have all aged three years when in-canon time has only passed one year (Seasons 1-3). And then aged two more years when another year has passed (Seasons 4-5). I believe that's why Shonda is making each season to be equivalent to one year to close the gap between the actors' and the characters' ages.

If you notice, as of PYT, 7 months has passed since the clinical trial began, which was what.. 2-3 episodes ago?

IMO, I think all of them are aging extremely well. JC, CW, EP, PD, and KR are all in their 40s, while everyone else (sans JP) are under.

And where the residents are concerned, SD and JW are in the right age group to be 4th year surgical residents being 30 and 29 respectively. Most 1st year surgical interns are 25-26, so being fourth years, it's typical that they're around 29-20. Even CL is practically the same age of her character.

So all in all, I think everyone's in their age to play who they're playing.
  7. Grey's Anatomy Musical: A Callie Hallucination?

I'm anxious to see how GA will handle this episode. To be honest, when I first heard of the musical episode I was a bit hesitant, but I want to reserve judgment until the episode airs.

Scrubs did a very similiar concept of their musical episode by having the episode be from the patient's POV who's brain tumor is causing everyone to appear as if they are speaking in song. I liked it, but then again, it was something I would expect from Scrubs. Scrubs is more sitcom then medical drama, so having a musical episode was Scrubs-like.

Grey's has a more medical drama feel with humorous moments, but I wouldn't call it a sitcom. So, here's to hoping that they do the musical episode well as opposed to jumping the shark.
  8. Grey's Anatomy Caption Contest 248

Lexie: Your boobs! Out of my face!
Meredith: Uh yea... -into the phone- we're going to need a boob-ectomy up here.. Thanks.
  9. Gossip Girl Caption Contest 142

    Ben: So... are you?
Serena: Why yes, I AM of age.
  10. Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peek: "P.Y.T."

This isn't new though; Mark's always abused his power as an attending. Remember when he first came on board? The interns were getting his coffee and dry cleaning: except for Izzie who stood up to him.

And Avery's desperate enough to go along with it. Honestly? I don't think Avery knows where his calling is yet: when he was in neuro he caused a brain bleed, when he was in general he couldn't keep the pancreas patient alive, he thought peds was babysitting, he blew up in trauma, and he's no competition with Cristina in cardio. I think he's floundering and Plastics is the one service he hasn't blown it yet: so I think he'll continue to take the abuse as Mark dangles opportunities for Chief Resident bait.
  11. Grant Show to Reprise Private Practice Role

Archer's back? Awesome. I liked his interaction with Addison and gang, especially when they were in Grey's Anatomy.

The whole Montgomery clan is an interesting hodpodge of personalities. I wonder if they'll ever reveal Addison's father's name, other than "The Captain"?
  12. Kate Walsh to Appear in Latest Grey's Anatomy Crossover!

When Addison comes to town, I'm actually excited to see her interaction, if any, with Lucy since their both in the same field. If Addision is renowned as they say she is, Lucy must know of her since Addision also completed a MFM-fellowship.

If there's anything wrong with the baby, they have enough surgeons to cover it. Addision can take care of both mom and baby being both OBGYN and neonatal surgeon, Lucy can take care of mom being an OBGYN and an MFM-fellow, and Arizona can take care of the baby being a peds surgeon. So this baby and Callie is more than well covered.

I wonder if there will be any resentment or career-overshadowing on Lucy's part since the last time Addison came across a perinatologist/neonatologist (Vanessa remember?), Vanessa was all, "ooo I'm in the shadow of Addison Montgomery." Of course, she was dating Sam at the time so that might futher the insecurity, but I am interested to see Lucy's reaction to Addison.
  13. P.Y.T. Promo (Canadian)

Is it just me or do the CTV promos of Grey's always have more intense drama-inducing promos than that of the ABC counterpart?
  14. Grey's Anatomy Caption Contest 247

Fields: So are you comfortable with them being here?
Torres: Oh, don't worry about it. These two? -points- They've seen it.... plenty. -Points to Sloan- This one left a present and this one -points to Robbins- will help unwrap it.
  15. Grey's Anatomy Review: Lesbian Lover. Baby Daddy.

I'm liking the new OB-attending; Lucy Fields is a good addition to the cast, even if she is only a guest character. I like how she quickly established her footing, immediately putting Mark in his place, unlike the OB-resident that handled Sloan Sloan's pregnancy.

Hunt's emphasis on "tweets" vs "teets" was priceless!
  16. Rachael Taylor Previews Grey's Anatomy Role

    @Vanessa

How do you know the character is 26? If anything, she's at minimum 29-30; OBGYN residency is only 4 years: so if she graduated Harvard Med at 25, she would've finished her residency at Duke by 29, and assuming she's a first year MFM-fellow at SGMW.

And when it comes to stretching reality with medical education, Addison was the best example of reality-manipulation: a neonatal surgeon AND a OBGYN/perinatologist WITH a medical genetics fellowship? That's 5 years of GS-residency, 2 years of peds surgery fellowship, 4 years of OBGYN-residency, 3 years of MFM fellowship and 2 years as a medical genetics fellow: that's 16 years post-med school. Even if she graduated Columbia at 25, that would mean she would've been at least 41, and she started on the show at age 39.

But back to Lucy, being a 30-year-old attending is not uncommon for OBGYN.

But, you are right if she is 26, that's too young to be a OBGYN-attending; that would mean she graduated Havard Med at 22.
  17. Grey's Anatomy Season Finale Spoilers: Shooter, Victims Revealed!

You know, I think I have to agree with Shell in the prediction. I thought there was something fishy on how April was in that room. But I'm thinking, April confesses and then Mr. Clark goes to shoot April, but Derek saves her and gets shot instead and that's what causes Meredith to be say "NO!" in the previews.
  18. Jesse Williams Previews Grey's Anatomy Romance, Family Drama

Did not see that one coming! Jackson Avery is the grandson of THE Harper Avery? Man if Grey's namesake had clout, imgaine what Avery has when the connection is revealed?
  19. Grey's Anatomy Review: "I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked"

Finally! I was tired of people referring to Arizona as a pediatrician! An on-screen declaration that she's not a pediatrician, but a pediatric surgeon.

Coop is a pediatrician. He doesn't do any surgeries. Arizona is a pediatric surgeon. As she said, "she doesn't do little diseases on little people, she does BIG surgeries on little people."

In regards to Derek and the chief-manship, I believe he still would've reported Webber even if they didn't give the job to him. Derek is ultimately a guy who sees black and white: his own mother admitted to it. Yes, becoming Chief of Surgery was a factor, but the good of the hospital was his overall motivation. After the merger losses, the inefficiencies that's consuming the hospital, and now the potential of a drunk surgeon operating? I support what Derek did.

Owen? Wow. I believe last night he proved himself the better of Burke. I think in that situation Burke would've ran, Burke would've walked away, he would have thrown Cristina away just as he did at the end of season 3. Owen's, IMO, is simply a better man. Because I can remember how Burke stated that he had to put up with Cristina's emotional shortcomings when Burke himself had his own with Cristina. I feel Owen is getting through because at the end of the day, Cristina is not supplementing her love with Owen with CT-knowledge like she did with Burke and Marlowe, she's just relying on her emotional connection with Owen and I feel it's stronger than what she had with Burke. In the choice of love and surgery, I believe that Cristina can have both and I feel she has a partner that will allow her to have both.

I think Mark is just hurting right now cause the man-whore grew up and got a taste of what being vulnerable is about. He's hurt because he truly is in love with Lexie and she feels the same way. But at the end of the day, Lexie is still getting her feet wet in regards to relationships. Given her sister's history, who by the way took two and half years to get all whole and healed, Lexie will stumble and fall before she'll fly.

I'm torn with Alex and Izzie: both were wrong in the situation. Izzie for blaming Alex and leaving, and Alex for cheating on Izzie. It makes me question had he not seen the results, had he not known Izzie would be okay, I wonder if he still would've done what he did and ended it with Izzie? I'm also curious if they'll be divorced off-screen as well or if, they do the Derek/Addie thing a la season 2 and eventually reconcile?

No news yet about KH stating this would be her last season. I mean, when that whole will they/won't they incident, we all found out way before January and we were waiting for the other shoe to drop. I haven't seen blurb about KH getting out of her contract or any rumor regarding Shonda and Co. planning for Izzie's permanent exit. The original cast's contracts expire at end of season 7, so I'm assuming renegotiations will begin starting this June when season 6 contracts are picked up. If Izzie is leaving, it'll most likely happen during their mid-year break of next season prior to February sweeps.
  20. Ugly Betty: Canceled!

I think the wedding will be between Hilda and Bobby. I wonder if Justin will get together with Randy? I've always been a Henry and Betty fan, but since they did the whole closure between the two, I feel like those two will never get together.

Daniel and Betty are FRIENDS: them being more is just.... ugh weird and a little bit incestous.

Call me crazy but if Daniel ends up with anyone, I think it should be Amanda; the show started off with them together as these shallow two-dimensional characters and now, they're more than that. Granted, Amanda is still Amanda, but she's matured.

Maybe Marc needs to get back together with Cliff.

It'd be nice if they did a fast forward and show Betty not so much "with" someone, but her having achieved her dream: her own magazine. I think at the end of the day, that's Betty's true love.

I'm sad that this show was canceled, it was one of my favorites. However, I do admit that when they moved UB from the Thursday night block that it was the beginning of the end. They should've let it stay.

I think this petition won't work; for us as consumers to have any affect at all, we need to translate that petition into something tangible. It's simply far too easy to affix your signature to a show because even if it does come back, a majority of those signatures will stop watching the show.

I think if fans want to be really proactive about UB's resurrection, DVD sales have to go through the roof. Fox cancelled FG twice, and record DVD sales forced them to renew the show and buy the back rights from Adult Swim.
  21. Three More Grey's Anatomy Sneak Previews For Thursday

In preview with Cristina and Teddy, I think it's really starting to hit home how much cardio means to Cristina. Her character has always been on of my favorites (next to Mer) because she was always the Nazi 2.0, the robot, and always, it seemed, to maintain a strict division between her profesional and presonal goals prior to her residency. Now, especially post-Burke, it's been this trying journey to maintain being the job vs. life.

Burke certainly pushed her emotional capacity, but I think it's Owen that's really got to explore her human side. Burke was always flawless from the start, but Owen was broken coming in. In a lot of ways, Cristina and Owen are emotionally parallel: suppressing and shunting off the emotion to do the job, whether that was in the OR or in Iraq. Unlike Burke, she can't "learn" and "be pushed" with Owen because he isn't a cardio god. So I think Cristina's attachment to Owen is purely emotional; with Marlowe and with Burke, I think her emotions were secondary to the knowledge and skills aspect: being their bf seemed more burden to Cris. With Owen, it's all emotion, which is new for Cristina.

Now when faced with her career and her love, Cristina's has always defaulted to her career, and I think maybe that confession in the courtyard was knee-jerk reaction rather that her really meaning it the way it sounded. I think Cristina's challenge in "growing up" is finding a balance to satisfy her cardio-needs and her love with Owen.
  22. Three More Grey's Anatomy Sneak Previews For Thursday

I honeslty don't believe that the smile was to signify that Mer was submissive; if anything, it showed anything but. To me, that smile was a victory-dance. She won the argument. She knew it. He knew it.

And frankly, it is "in-character" for Mer not to get angry at least since season 5. Like she told Alex, she grew up and got married. She got all whole and healed. The days of getting angry and hitting tequila are over. It's very much "in-character" for Mer to go to bat for her friends, whom now include the Chief.

Like her namesake, Mer has always been the "grey" to Derek's black and white: it's the main reason Mrs. Shepherd approved of Mer to begin with.

I honestly hope nothing too bad goes with the Chief: I enjoy Pickens as part of the regular cast, even if his character is no longer the patriarchal authority of SG(MW)H. I can't wait to see what unfolds. Only 13 more episodes until the season's over.

    In AZ's words, "yay".
  23. Grey's Anatomy Flashback to Show Intern Bailey?

Since they're doing flashbacks, I wonder if Faye Dunaway's character, Dr. Margaret Campbell, will make an appearance. Maybe she was Bailey's instructor, at least, indirectly, as an attending.

Usually, it's PGY-II to PGY-IV residents that immediately surpervise PGY-I residents (interns), so I can't imaagine Campbell being Bailey's direct instructor, but maybe she'll be one of the attendings that Bailey's resident reports to.
  24. Grey's Anatomy Flashback to Show Intern Bailey?

No way is Bailey pushing 50. She's younger than that, considering Webber is in his fifties.

No matter how late Bailey started her surgical career, traveling back to when she was an intern will still only be five to six years back from GA-current time. The timeline with GA is kind of messy because even though 6 years have passed since its premiere, in-universe time has only moved 3 years ahead: from PGY-I of GS-residency to PGY-III of GS-residency.
  25. Is Jackson Avery the Son of Richard and Ellis?

OMG, dispel this rumor already. There is NO way Ellis Grey would've had a love-child with Richard Webber. Give how Ellis was so high-powered in her surgical career, I can't imagine her settling down for a bit to have a child, given how she regretted raising Mer.

Also, Ellis, in one of her rants, said that Webber never wanted children, so having a child certainly wasn't in the plans for either one of them.

Additionaly, this is Ellis Grey we're talking about. If she had a love-child, would the woman actually bring the baby to term? I don't believe Ellis would hesitate for a second to terminate the pregnancy. Famous or otherwise, Ellis always put the scalpel before anything else.

No, having a child will break contiunity of the show, because let's face it, it would have come up when Ellis became lucid.
