I agree with you on that one Charlotte Waldorf. There was no emotion when he said I love you to Blair in the pilot. I don't think there was suppose to be, he was still infatuated with Serena.

I however will always, always ship Nair. I always have the hope that they could be together in the end.

Nate treats Blair right. He has made his mistakes e.g. sleeping with Serena. That was almost three years ago. Chuck's latest exploit was about 2 episodes with Elle when he supposedly loved Blair. I know they weren't an official couple, but really that was terrible to do to someone you love. He would've left the country with Elle without a second thought at Blair. How is that love? I don't think that is. Not to mention sleeping with Vanessa.
Like Blair said in 'The Grandfather': "Help me. Is that what you were doing at your little Gentlemen's Club while my life was going up in flames?"
Chuck only wants Blair when he can't have her, but when she's there for him he runs away to other girls. Blair deserves someone better for her, like NATE.
Nate and Blair know each other so well. They've been best friends since Kindergarten. I know they love each other and they are very comfortable with each other as well. They are the perfect couple.
Also, to everyone saying Nate is a man whore, Chuck has slept with WAY more girls then Nate. He's not an ILY whore either. The ONLY girl he has I love you to is Blair. If you watch School Lies again he says it without pressure from anyone else, he says it because he honestly feels that way. If Blair hadn't made the mistake of sleeping with Chuck they probably could still be together and very happy.
Nate and Blair are there for each other when they don't have anyone else. I think the idea of Chuck and Blair is great and all, but in the end Blair deserves someone who will love her unconditionally, won't sleep with Vanessa for revenge, and who can give her an honest relationship that can be real and not just a fantasy.
Chuck and Blair are great High School lovers, but I could never see them being married. Chuck is suppose to be the womanizer and they shouldn't take that away from his because it is his character. That's why I love him, I find him boring when he is just running his father's company.
I could see Nate and Blair being married and very in love. Raising a family and just having that perfect life.
Maybe Blair doesn't want that, maybe she wants the game. But will she really want to be going back and forth 40 years from now with Chuck. I don't think so.
I just love Nate and Blair. They are my idea of what I would want my relationship to be. Maybe that's why I am so drawn to them? I'm not sure. I just am. I love watching their scenes together. I love the way they look at each other and I love the way Nate kisses her. I see the chemistry I don't know why others don't.
I just think they make a fantastic couple. As Blair says, "Maybe it's easy because it's right" I agree with that %100. No matter what ends up happening at the end of the 'Gossip Girl' series I will always believe Nate and Blair should be together in the end.
I hope the writers and producers feel that way too.
