@Callisto, good point on your end also! Maybe no humanity means no sire bond? But that wouldn't be good.....the plan was to have Damon tell her to "turn it back on" when they think she could cope again... If there is not sire bond anymore...oh dear. Either way, I HATE the sire bond thing. Totally ruins the tension of the triangle.
@Sonia, good point! So much for a cover story. Though, April is "in the know" so, as long as she doesn't blab "Hey, Jeremy Gilbert didn't die in a house fire, a 2,000 year old vampire killed him" all over town, I think that the story might still be safe...
NOW...for the things that confused me:1. How has Katherine been lurking around without raising Klaus's hybrid radar? And did she know about Silas or the cure prior to coming across Haley in New Orleans? 2. Is Shane dead? Did Silas take on his form? It clearly not just a body take-over a la Klaus and Tyler/Alaric, because we saw Shane in the woods. I am not sure about the direction of this plot... 3. This whole veil thing...it seems like new information, as before it was just that Silas would raise the dead that aided him. And wasn't the point raising Shane's son, who is not supernatural? Unless, Shane had one plan and Silas has had another all along. That being bringing back all supernaturals.
I do hope Jeremy stays dead. Not because I don't love Jeremy (I do), and not because I don't love Steven R. McQueen (Oh man, I do)...it's just that reviving him would lower the stakes of death on TVD (which are already pretty low) to basically nothing. Sometimes dead has to be DEAD. And I totally called the Jeremy dead equals humanity-less Elena...I just didn't think Damon would be the one to turn it off on her.
Good episode! Not my favorite (those would be the penultimate and finale of 2, and the finale of 3), but solid and good writing by Julie Plec. Nina Dobrev did an excellent job, so props to her, and Zach Roerig was pretty great too...Matt breaking down in the truck was so sad!
Was Katherine's return a pleasant surprise? A surprise yes, but clearly not pleasant. Though, Miranda, I don't think she just suddenly showed. I think she is the one that broke into Shane's office. I think she has been following the merry band of travelers and lurking around Mystic Falls for a while. And we didn't see what Katherine was wearing in the first place, nor did we get a good look at what injured Elena was wearing at the end. I think knocked Elena out and switched clothes with her.
To which character would you give the cure? Rebekah. All she's ever wanted was a family, an epic love, children. She once said something like...she's lived 1000 years but hasn't had a life. She may be a bit of a double-crosser at the moment, but she deserves it most.
Where did Tyler go? Honestly, I couldn't care less. He comes and goes so often at this point, and I feel like there is some chemistry missing between he and Caroline (that really was once there)... I just want to see Klaus redeem himself to Caroline somehow...
Sadder moment: Tyler leaving, Jeremy dying or Damon turning into a decent person? Tyler leaves all the time. He's losing relevance for me. Damon may be bad-ass (and always will be), but I think that he's always been decent at heart (and, again, always will be). And OBVIOUSLY it was horrendous that Jeremy might be dead! And my theory is that, sadly, he actually is :-(
What was your favorite scene or quote from the episode? I really enjoyed the brotherly exchange in which Damon tells Stefan that he doesn't want Elena to be human. I also enjoy all exchanges between Klaus and Caroline. Tyler who? Plus, Joseph Morgan is just FLAWLESS in his portrayal of the (emotionally raw) villain.
