    The show has neglected to answer any of the following questions, so that is I don't feel any sympathy towards her losing her human life since last season showed she is too involved in that world already so it was just a matter of time before she became an actual part of it - turning into a vampire.

    I honestly don't get what Elena has to be so sad about...its not like she had any big plans for her future to cry about now...Yes, she did mention she wanted back in s2, but that was so basic and vague..nothing about that has been even mentioned ever since........in s3 she already turned 18, that is the time when you are supposed to start making decisions about your future, and since she was left as head of her household since Jenna died, she should have grown up even faster...but what did we see in s3 regarding that? Nothing. To all thise claiming people here are being too negative, answer me this - What college does Elena want to go to? What profession is she interested in? How did she manage to support herself and Jeremy last season? Why didn't get a job? What are her interests in life? The show has neglected to answer any of the following questions, so that is I don't feel any sympathy towards her losing her human life since last season showed she is too involved in that world already so it was just a matter of time before she became an actual part of it - turning into a vampire.

    Oh God, there were so many great moments in s1..so hard to choose,anyway I'll try...

    1. Blair's & Serena's first face-off on the steps of the MET in ep 1
    2. Sunday Brunch
    3. Serena and Blair making up at that place where Serena was reading a book and where Blair read that letter....amazing scene, we really got to see how much they missed each other.
    4. The entire cotillion and Serena and Dan's kiss!
    5. Serena and Dan's first night together
    6. Jenny walking into the elevator after she gave Blair the keys and her turning around....a new bitch was born
    7. Blair at Victrola
    8. The party at the swimming pool and especially Chuck torturing Blair
    9. The scene where the kids got together to "write a paper" at Blair's house
    10. Georgina showing up at the school and Serena's face when she saw her
    11. Serena and Georgina partying together
    12. Serena coming to Chuck for help when she found out Georgina is coming to town

    Well I don't need to be in the acting profession to see who is good actor or not, I am the viewer, hence if I don' t feel anything from the certain actors performance then that is how I decide whom I see as talented or not, it has nothing to do with image and how a certain actress looks. Plus I have been to the theatre quite a lot in my life so thats why I can judge.

    Remember how they hyped up "evil steffie" storyline only to give a completely lame emo-steffie for 7 episodes and then throw it all under the bus as if it never ever happened?

    Sadly so, I guess we can say that almost about every character on this show

    Frankly the problem is not the clothes.

    Elena might dress like she gets her clothes from Salvation Army, but it would be easy to overlook if there was personality behind the rags, so to say.

    Yeah, I know, but clothes are supposed to complete a character, what you wear says a lot about your personality, which is why I laugh everytime time they say Elena is getting dark or all super bad ass..even her Buffy training clothes spelled weak and miserable...anyway, as usual my point is - book Elena was so much better..

    think you guys who are saying she's a boring actress are confusing her character with the actress herself. I mean, come on, She also played Katherine. She was the polar opposite of Elena.

    So she can pull off two roles..she ain't no Meryl Streep. Frankly, she is actually very average...its not like it takes serious acting skills to pull off Katherine's character. Anyway, yeah, everyone is entitled to their opinion but in terms of the acting department on this no one beats Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies...

    For some reason I like how Elena looks on this photo, her hair I mean, cos really that needs to change, the girl needs a make-over ASAP! Even if that means just brushing hair into a different direction...yeah, what are we supposed be excited about here, again? Oh yeah, the vamp thing, well, knowing how this show deals with new vamps and how they feed - just stealing blood bags from the hospital...I don't really see a problem with anyone fearing Elena will attack someone...unlike Caroline whose transition was written incredibly well because the poor girl had no idea what was happening to her and I saw her psychological struggle and then physical struggle with bloodlust...Elena is gonna have it super easy..the Salvatores prob have like 500 years supply of bloodbags....so no worries, Elena ain;t gonna bite no one..
