Season 3 Le Roache while investigating the Todd Johnson murder said a killer works at the CBI. This person has not been caught to this date. With all that has been done andas far as we have come in the series that person is still working there. That person killed Todd Johnson and framed Hightower. After watching season 3, I figured out who it is. What's interesting is that we talked a lot about him but never suspected him. The killer is...............CBI RON! In the episode Red queen when Le Roache was introduced in the meeting CBI Ron was sitting right up front in the first chair. Then when the print came back on Hightower, there were tight focused camera shots of CBI Ron. CBI Ron is the inside killer!
@Entwife, the crass creep! Lovin' it!
Jane quote from Red moon, Ellis is in rm. 21,consider it a gift. I hope someday someone will do the same for me! Todd Johnson quote from Red moon, trust me, there is a big picture. It!........WILL!.......BLOW!........YOUR!.......MIND! . .
Haffner whistling this little ditty indicates that he is not the master and that he will be glad when the master is dead. Red John would never sing this song. Red john might sing THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, WHIP IT or BEAT IT. I would go so far as to say he might even sing BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. But Red John would never sing Jimmy crack corn!

Ok, here's the nail in Haffner's coffin. Haffner was whistling the song Jimmy crack corn. This song is widely know as an old African American slave code song. When the master met his demise by what ever means, the slaves could not celebrate openly. Soooo, they came up with this song and sang it openly when the master died.
I've been thinking about Haffner. They showed him whistling, killing Lisbon, trying to force himself on her and just being straight out cult killer crazy. Why? He never behaved this way before. It's almost like saying this is not Red John. Red John would not expose himself in this manner and it would be a letdown if he were. His behavior was too in the open to be Red John. So when the big reveal came, you'd be like, yeah that's what they showed us in the second episode. So what would be the point of the rest of it. This would be a major spoiler and so based on that, I would say he's out. He may give Jane a hell of a fight but all the visuals and strange up front behavior suggests he a red herring.
@Katempw, I see you are on a role tonight! Lol. Love Tom's last name!
Bret Stiles will be my guy until he's eliminated. Nothing that has been said so far has proven that he is not.
That is true, he could have made her do that. Probably did because the whistling didn't start until this episode. Good observations. So he left the recorder there on purpose. Just like he got the files, he could have taken the recorder. He is trying to get Jane tossed off a roof?.you know Jane will try and test this theory.
