Again, most Mer fans wanted the City Hall wedding. And about the baby, I think it's unfair to call out on the fans that wanted a pregnancy. I did. I don't mind the adoption but doubt it'll be done with justice, so a pregnancy would've been much easier and had more comedic material. What's the problem there? Just because we get the baby we should shut up now? Honey, not happening. The only thing most M/D fans want is a story done with justice, not just a story, or are you happy with Cristina's story now?
But why should M/D fans express their opinions without being judged? Right.
Meredith and Derek are adopting. There was a leaked promo that aired once where Derek says they should adopt. Besides, the pics for 7.21 are already out and they are holding a baby at the hospital.
Shonda is too lazy to explore other choices rather than just adoption. I'm good but doubt it will be done with justice.
MerDer are glowing! They look fantastic! Most likely Derek's holding the license, not adoption papers. Those aren't signed until adoption is through, I believe.
Don't care on Calzona, moving on.
Aries93,
Really? Selfish? Because they don't go to a wedding? Wow. That's sad. This whole adoption thing is so selfish, right? Man. Do you even think that Calzona will even care that M/D aren't there? They won't! They won't even notice. It's not like they are close friends. They have said four words to each other, non-medical. From my POV is not rude given what they are doing in the larger sense. Besides, for me as a fan, I'm SO happy so I can FF all the Calzona wedding and not suffer a bit from it.
I just think they're being honest. I mean, isn't it Calzona's Anatomy now? Of course here comes the argument that this is an ensemble cast and it's Callie's chance to shine blah blah blah but you don't modify the name of a book to the name of your title character (crazy stuff!) and have critics go that EP & PD are the stars of the show and promote it as such (courtesy of some thinking brains at ABC) for nothing.
I find it funny 'cause it's true. Calzona's Anatomy. Too bad I'm not interested on this show.
For a while I didn't and I even believe that wasn't the original plan but it was changed. Shonda gave Meredith a treatable condition that thousands of women have managed to treat and carry on a pregnancy. There were other options to be explored with Shonda ignored and the treatment that goes with it. Even in 704 Derek was saying: There is a treatment. Sure, ONE treatment made Mer blind but what about the others? They are surgeons, YOU'D THINK they would know better.
But hey, all for the purpose of how to make Mer suffer the most. You know that the bio parents of this baby will appear and want their rights back. Oh, I just spoiled S8. Bad, bad me.
I don't care about adoption, I support it but 2 things:
1. It won't be done properly. Just like the infertility issues, just a mockery of it all.
2. They missed a huge shot of making this story funny and sensitive at the same time.
What's the big deal that M/D won't be at CA's wedding? It's not like they are friends. Let M/D do their thing. Frankly, I'm tired with this idiotic CAM story that I hope that after this they go to the background.
J,
Derek is Mark's friend, not Arizona. If anything, Derek has a loyalty to Mark not Arizona. Besides, I never even heard ONCE that Arizona said she was happy to see Derek fine after his shooting or that she visited him. Or that she even noticed. Don't you think that for Derek to care about Arizona, Arizona would have to do the same thing? Just saying.
It's everyone's right to state their opinion and if their opinion comes across to you as 'whining', then ignore it or respect it.
As well, not everyone has to love whatever Sara and Jessica are creating onscreen. To me, it's a big mess, it's a mockery of what it's supposed to be a relationship and character assassination on Gary Clark level. That's my opinion on it and I don't have to love it because it should be perceived as THE story. A lot of people hated MerDer's story, others hated Izzie's, and so forth, but people aren't judging on "How can YOU not love this?" but actually expressing that they want to see more of their favorite characters. Not a crime.
Another thing, it has not been 4 or 5 episodes. It's the second half of the season. The producers follow a pattern of having a main story for the first and second half of the season. Do the math. It's on 8 now.
And finally, great that Shonda wants to stand for human rights and love and what not...but it not always makes good TV. I would handle her more credit if she made a kickass documentary (narrated by JCap if you want) about the current situation but the way she has incorporate it into the show? Total. Absolute. Disaster. Translating it into GA just makes me roll my eyes. And I have tons of gay friends that I love and defend them to death. I've known of lesbians that are offended by what's happening on GA and are in fact, missing the S1-5 GA days (some even daring to want M/D back as the spotlight).
I have zero respect for Shonda because while she may defending universal love, she hurt many people who suffer from infertility and miscarriages and I haven't seen SR going off on people for that. It's insensitive.
And to end, I will join the 'whining' and demand more MerDer/Alex/Cristina/Bailey/Richard. They were such great characters...
LMAO at the notion that promoting Calzona to the finale will rise viewership. GA is a sinking ship. I just want to know how 'great' will the ratings be once PD/EP/SO leave.
So let me get this straight: Callie gets all the residents and everyone's attention after her own stupid mistake of taking off her seatbelt, whereas Derek and Alex, who were shot point blank and had also pretty damn bad injuries...get overlooked? Are you kidding me?
Grey's Anatomy is making it so easy for me not to miss it.
How mature. I am so over the Calzona story. I don't care if they marry, I don't care if their baby lives. I just want this story to be over and move on to other stories. You know, with the original cast...
Callie is beyond of a spoiled brat. Callie is almost developing a narcissistic complex. This is unbelievable. She wants her cake and wants to keep eating it.
Care to give a link to the PD interview? The one I saw, he never said the words "amazing" to the musical, other than saying that some of the cast had really great voices. In fact, he took a hit at the show saying that they were merging with Glee. From my perspective, he doesn't seem that excited either.
@bazuka,
LOL! Stand your ground. I can't believe that some people don't believe in freedom of opinion because it isn't positive.
That was cruel. Callie is really eating her cake, isn't she? Sure, Cristina can be the godmother for the two babies but you'd think Cristina would think twice before even telling Meredith.
Also, if the baby is baptized, in theory, Cristina shouldn't be able to be the godmother. She's Jewish and Callie's Catholic.
I am also betting that Derek will be asked to be the godfather and even better yet, this be the beginning of the C/O baby drama. Nothing can come good out of this.
Besides, the last time someone asked Cristina to be the godmother, baby was lost. Foreshadowing?
