  1. Gossip Girl Promo: "The Sixteen Year Old Virgin"

I'm just so happy the writers seem to have gotten their heads out of the sand finally, I'll be thrilled with whatever curveballs they throw our way, as long as the witty banter, dark humor, plotting, sex-drugs-and-rock-n-roll are back. Since Season 4 is a definite 'go', they can break Chair up if they want because we all know whenever is the final season, Chair will be together and that's all I want to see. Besides, Blair is such a great schemer when she's not trying to be Chuck's psychologist.
  2. Gossip Girl Notes: Carter Baizen, Blair's Bulimia to Return

I'm probably older than many posters which may account for the different way I see Chuck and Blair's evolution this season. I can only imagine how Chuck's year in the very adult, cut-throat business world of Manhattan would make it difficult for them to relate to each other right now. In fact, I'm bored with Blair lately... She's fiercely intelligent and driven, but she's got nothing to do, and as a result, Chair is boring me! Blair's tete-a-tete with Elizabeth was the most interesting scene she's had since the hospital :( I'm holding on for the arrival of Jack, G, Dr. VDW, and Carter to stir things up.
  3. More Gossip Girl Sneak Previews: "The Lady Vanished"

Taylor's way better when she's got something to do other than be a petulant teenage daughter resenting her parents... I'm actually liking her storyline more and more. Maybe it was having that long break and time to hang out together or something, but the group's feels more like Season 1, and that's a very good thing... here's hoping it holds!
  4. Gossip Girl Round Table: "The Hurt Locket"

Strong start to the second half of the season - someone managed to get the right mix of tension/humor/glamour back that's been missing since early Season 2.

Serenate's definitely hot - but since Chair hasn't had even one 'intimate encounter' (onscreen) in forever, I can only compare them to early Chair - and early Chair beats Serenate.
  5. Gossip Girl Round Table: Special Return Edition!

    1. More excited to see Chuck's mother or Serena's father?
It's a tie - it's time Lily and Rufus got interesting again, but anything that makes Chair the main storyline is hard to resist.

    2. More psyched about the return of: Georgina, Cyrus or Jack Bass?
Georgina bores me lately and while I adore Cyrus, the show *needs* a villian again... so it's got to be Jack.

    3. Are you rooting for Dan and Vanessa to get together?
Yes! The show works best when the core characters are all entangled and I'm ready for a strong finish to S3.

    4. What have you been doing on Monday nights for the last three months? Using the extra hour to cook home-made meals with the BF... which means a return to frozen dinners in two weeks.
  6. DJ

Seriously? A spiderweb-themed evening gown? Please someone tell Eric Daman to stop letting Taylor dress herself! Jenny is officially trying to morph into Morticia Addams... _http://www.darkrising.co.uk/Images/Morticia.jpg
  7. Matthew Settle, Wife to Split Up

That is not funny - ever. Everyone just drop it and stick to discussing the article... Thanks.
  8. Blake Lively to Pose For Playboy?

I have no problem with Playboy or her doing a photo shoot - but if she is considering it I hope she's really doing it for a different reason, e.g., she wants to look back in thirty years and be able to say "wow - I was hot!"

I don't undestand when women get upset that men enjoy looking at photos of naked women...humans were naked until they figured out how to make clothes!

Besides, I like to see photos of hot guys, so how can I demand my BF never look at photos of hot girls? And despite Hefner's personal preferences for 'girlfriends', the mag actually is more body-friendly than most ... When Lisa Rinna was asked to pose, they told her to STOP working out b/c men prefer women "softer"... how often has a women's fashion magazine asked a model to do that?
  9. Gossip Girl Return Preview: Who Is Not Wearing Underwear?

Yay! Looks like GG got its mojo back! I actually hope they don't release so many sneak-peek clips - they make watching the actual episodes feel anticlimactic.
  10. Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick: Hitting a Rough Patch?

@Delena - totally agree... I'm not a huge fan of Vanessa, but I have no basis to dislike Jessica because I don't know her as a person.

Anyway doubt it's true... their body language in the photos of the two of them attending a recent fundraiser speak louder than any reports in a slimy tabloid.
  11. Taylor Momsen Smoking: A Bad Message?

GGI isn't bashing Taylor - there are reports all over different websites about Taylor's behavior and interviews... Taylor is responsible for the negative AND positive press she receives - not the people reporting it. (e.g., the post about Ed Westwick peeing in the bushes doesn't exactly make him look classy or mature either.)

MANY celebs smoke 'covertly' and go to great lengths to hide their addition from the public so they don't unintenationally "glamorize" it.

Taylor constantly claims to be her own person and unusually mature, but giving in to peer pressure to smoke is totally contrary to the image she tries to cultivate. But no one starts smoking because it tastes good, makes you smell nice, improves your health, or makes your skin clear.
  12. Taylor Momsen: F*%k Being a Role Model!

No, she shouldn't have to be a role model - but she certainly isn't turning into a very nice person, let alone an educated, worldy one. A lot of people have said she should be excused for her attitude because she's 16. To that I respond:

I'm sick of people thinking it's "cool" to care about nothing but themselves. It really bugs me to think we're such a narcissistic generation that Taylor Momsen could be perceived as a regular kid "acting out" a bit. Good for her for applying her energy to so many different outlets - but I wish she'd use a little of it to experience the world outside of the entertainment industry.

BTW - did anyone else think it's weird that a bunch of adults in their 30's, 40's, and 50's would want to hang out with a 15 year old? Let alone listen to her curse-filled pontifications?
  13. Gossip Girl Spoilers: Latest on Chuck-Blair Drama

Chuck won't do anything that fans can't forgive him for - because then Chair can't happen again, and that's the end game. That rules out rape and domestic violence - but not murder... murder can "justifiable homicide". That would set up a helluva cliffhanger - Chuck going to trial...

(BTW, what happened to the "white hot angry make-up s8x" we were promised at the beginning of the season?!)
  14. More on Last Night's Big Gossip Girl Spoiler

Okay, first of all, have you not noticed that THIS story has generated more posts than any one has in a long time?

There are no other characters on the show that generate as much interest - that's EXACTLY why they would break them up! To keep people talking!

But the season hasn't even finished filming, so consider this: they leak the "worst-case scenario" to generate feedback to see how far they can go... in other words, market research.

And I agree with the post that said "nothing is irreparable in TV". They're characters, not real people, so whatever outcome is desired can always be guaranteed. If they said "don't worry, they will make up", then you wouldn't be curious what happens... which they need you to be to keep watching.

Besides, we need a villain on the show, and Chuck can't be that when he's happy with Blair. Just because they break up doesn't mean they won't flirt, or interact... look on the bright side - can't wait to see some Chuck and Blair scheming return!
  15. Josh Schwartz Tweets Gossip Girl Spoilers

I'm glad they had a break so they could reflect on and fix the problems with the first half of this season. And while I'm sure it's frustrating for Penn, Chace, Jessica, and Taylor to have their storylines considered "filler", consider the casts of Friends, Seinfeld, or The OC... Amazing ensemble chemistry comes once-in-a-lifetime - and doesn't translate to solo career success.
  16. Taylor Momsen in Seventeen: Behind the Scenes

I love Avril - she has energy and likes to goof around and feels authentic. Taylor looks and acts tired and miserable most of the time. Either it's an act, or she's following a little too closely in LiLo's dangerous footsteps...
  17. Taylor Momsen Wants to Be Taken Seriously

My brother knew at 5 years old he wanted to be a geologist - and he's 31 and that's the only job he's ever done. BUT he was NOT a foul-mouthed, cocky, tactless bore when people asked him about it. I don't object to Taylor's certainty about her career - I object to the total lack of class with which she handles normal, if repetitive, questions from interviewers, and her inability to avoid cursing on the record.

She's trying so hard to prove she's an adult, she reveals just how immature she still is.
  18. A Jessica and Ed Pic

I'm glad to see an article with Jessica, so maybe people who confuse Jessica with Vanessa will change their opinions about Jessica. Starting as friends first is the best way to begin a relationship because you're truly being yourself... they seem happy, and I'm happy for them.

PS - I'm happy to see Ed bucking the Hollywood mantra that hairless bodies are (the only) beautiful ones. The stupidest thing I've heard is that they made Penn Badgley shave his chest because young women supposedly find chest hair "sexually threatening" (their words, not mine). Let them be!
  19. Gossip Girl Spoilers: Jenny Wants Nate!

I can't see Nate choosing Jenny over Serena.... but if Serena pulls the kindof crap she did with Carter I can see Jenny having a shot - maybe Jenny will tempt Nate back into the party-boy life?
  20. Gossip Girl Spoilers: Rufus and Lily Tension

It would be hard to imagine there *not* being drama when you start blending two households... especially b/c Lily was gone for like, three months after they married. They've barely had any screentime as a couple - I'm looking forward to seeing what they do but do NOT want them to break up... there needs to be one 'stable' base for the show at any given time - and by the looks, it's not going to be their kids!
  21. Gossip Girl Spoilers: Jenny in New Love Triangle?

Nate seems to have a thing for girls he can't have... He went after Serena when he was with Blair; he went after Blair when she fell for Chuck; he fell for Jenny when he was with Vanessa; and now he's going for Serena again while she's with Trip. So it makes total sense he'd fall for Jenny after she falls for Damien!

PS - agree whoever said Taylor's legs look scary in this pic... I know she's tall, but she's not looking as healthy as past seasons... hope she's ok.
  22. Laura Harring to Play Chuck Bass' Mom

I disagree with Ausiello about 'stunt casting' his mother - I *hate* stunt-casting, and it ruins the vibe of GG except when it's like, Lady Gaga performing. Tyra was so distracting all her scenes felt like they were in a high school play and even Blake seemed to have a hard time taking it seriously.

As for the point about how frumpy she looked... My mind went in the direction like she had to go into a witness protection program or something... where Bart would have to think she's dead or pretend it, for her safety. And in that case, she certainly wouldn't want to encourage attracting attention!

The only thing is about it being a Jack plot... Why? Chuck is over 18 and he sold his shares in Bass Inc. to buy the Empire hotel - so there's nothing for Jack to 'take' from him by hook or crook...?
  23. Gossip Girl Round Table: "The Debarted"

Best quote is Chace's "He's a douche", because it was a) timed perfectly, and b) exactly what Nate - or anyone his age - would have said.

I think Rufus is too much of a romantic to go through with it... however, someone foreshadowed a little "bunny-boiler" plot, and I think that's totally plausible.

Tripp is an egotistical SOB, but Maureen? She's just deliciously evil... Love her!

And congrats for making me actually interested in a Jenny storyline for the first time... But Ed's performance ruled the night... his ability to imbue 2 simple words "I know" with so much nuance (when Blair tells him he's not his father) speaks to his talent as much as his hospital scene. Sadly, the Emmys are quite a snobbish bunch - they rarely deign to nominate a "minor" network actor, no matter how talented.
  24. What Did You Think of "The Debarted"?

OMG A-MAZING! My GG is back! Ed again delivers an incredible performance - the way collapsed in the hall, and pulled Leighton into him as they walk out of the hospital, gave me chills. But I hate how everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and assuming Lily cheated on Rufus! That's what the writers want us to infer... but it would be classic GG to give it a twist.

I love Maureen and the Kennedy-ish story - the fact she alluded to it herself was fantastic! With Blair preoccupied by college and Chuck's troubles, it's nice to have a real witch among the cast...
  25. Gossip Girl Look-Alikes: Scott and Liza Minnelli

His character always seems stoned or confused and he speaks reeeally slooowly.... maybe he got confused and thought he was playing Nate ;)
