i'm hopeing they keep it quiet as long as possible. personally i would love to turn on my tv in september, if the show returns that is, and just seeing what happens to who. or at least tuning in to the season finale without prior knowledge as to who is going to make it through because of contracts ending. i know its partly my fault because i read the stuff, but i think it would be an amazing thing if they literally didn't tell anyone what they were doing. no pictures, nothing. i know... good luck with that.
did anyone else feel like Morgan just sort of popped out of no where? ... and why 2 weeks!!!??? we waited almost 2 months over xmas, and now 2 weeks!? D:
I dont see why people wouldn't want Izzie back because of the way Katherine left the show. Like i said, if things can be repaired. But i had thought of something else. The residents will become attendings here really soon, if not next season. What if Izzie came back and took an attending role at SGMW. I mean, that seams slightly plausible. I just read an article where Katherine would like to see Izzie become a success because she was always a little behind everyone, and i sort of agree. It would be interesting to see Izzie whole, healed and have chosen a specialty to then return to SGMW for a job opening. How about that? That seems like a plausible story line to me.
I think if things can be repaired behind the scenes then i would love to see here come back, even just for a little bit. At this point, i feel like Alex's storyline is just hovering there, undecided on which way to lean. With this announcement, maybe they are secretly trying to figure something out. Shonda has been pretty realistic with the story lines with all of the actors leaving and it has all put emotional toll on the characters. So if she thinks it will be okay for Izzie to return, I could see Mer welcoming Izzie back in some way because she’s different, but it would be interesting to see how things would pan out. It would be a good storyline to carry us in to a 9th season, and would give a possibility for Dempsey to not be in as many episodes and follow his racing goals. I did recently see an interview with her and how she was having difficulty doing movies and being a parent. For an actor i don't think you can get more stable than a television series.
I remember a lot of people thinking the musical episode would be bad and no one had any idea why Shonda was doing it, and then everyone loved it. I think that is pretty much the same thing with this episode. I am very much looking forward to it, but when is it? I thought it was the first episode of January but i guess it's not, which kind of disappoints me because i'm dieing to see this episode!
Isaiah Washington will never return, and i dont think he should and dont want him to. He basically threw a hissyfit when they used his picture in an episode it think sometime in season 4 or maybe 5 saying that Burke had earned the Harper Avery i believe. He got all mad that they even used his picture. He went out on bad terms so he'll never come back, and George won't come back either because TR Knight went out on bad terms. If anyone comes back it would be Katherine Heigl, and even that is so slim with all the movies she is probably signed up to do, finding time would be hard. We are lucky we even get Kate Walsh back, but we were lucky she went on to do Private Practice.
I for one can not WAIT to see Kate Burton. She is so amazing as Elise and I loved seeing Elise lucid in that one episode back in season 3. So getting to see the true Elise i think is a super real treat for us.
Well.... would any of these changes truely change Cristina falling for Burke?
Wouldnt Ellis still die from heart problems even if she didnt have alzheimers?
The only big changes i see happening are the relationship with Mer and Der and then Mer and Cristina. So unless Der chooses Addison after he sleeps with Mer then he won't even be there. There are so many possiblities and fitting it all in to a one hour episode should be interesting. I am very much looking forward to this episode, and of course the return of Grey's because it feels like forever until Jan 5th.
I agree with farsia2010. thats what i am hoping. Random thought, but i bet a near death experience rules out them deciding to kill off any characters at the end of the show if the actors decide to be done with grey's. this is intense, and i can't wait for next weeks episode, but i've been seeing a lot that there will be a 3 week break after next week episodes, which really bums me out.
I agree with the below comments... Derek does have a god-complex and he does seem to have issues with committing to a marriage, especially if his wife makes a mistake. I agree with what Mer did and was surprised that she was fired, but from Dereks point of view, Mer did say he had to treat her as a fellow colleague. And that is where it gets difficult. Mer is still a resident, therefore lower on the surgical food-chain than Derek. Derek is still her boss. So it really makes things difficult. Who knows what would have happened if Mer had been an attending when this happened, but I think Derek is pissed, has a right to but really needs to get over it and accept that Mer did this to help Adele without thinking and without caring whether it hurt her career or not.
I kind of hope Stark comes back. Though i honestly cant remember the last 3 episodes, i am re-watching the seventh season and i hate him when he comes on but really sort of begin to like him as he shows up more and shows more of a soul throughout the season. I do like the relationship between him and April... can't wait till tomorrow night but i do think i would like to see Stark this season.
I love that Ellen is willing to see how the story will progress before she decides to leave or not, and of course this is all if ABC still want's Grey's running. no one has even really mentioned that idea. they could just decide to cancel it, though i think if they were going to cancel it they would have done it around season 4 and 5 because 1-3 was the serious high point. Shonda Rhimes is a genius, but im just not sure how she could pull off keeping Mer in the story and not Derek. Derek would either have to die (which would just tear me apart) or leave Mer which i don't think will happen after everything they've been through. that would not be the way to end their relationship for good, since the whole show is basically about them.
It does make me happy to see that Ellen is willing to see what will happen rather than Patrick Dempsey just say he was done.
Who knows what will happen, but what ever does, im sure if ABC welcomes Grey's back for season 9, there will be a season 9 and Shonda Rhimes will figure something out.
@KristenR1983 you are right. and i agree about callie. somehow i just cant see her being pregnant. i cant even really see her with kids, even though she wants them so much.
i really like teddy's storyline. but i have that horrible feeling that something bad is going to happen and it will be another denny. though i know they will try to make it not another denny. i feel like if anything goes wrong everyone will compare it to a denny thing. even though its almost the opposite of a denny thing.
and bailey's story. love it. a new bailey, going with it. awesome.
i feel like it would have been alot more epic or intense if we didnt already know what was coming. was the fact that callie was pregnant a total guess from this site or something that was a spoiler. i tend to come across spoilers here and it actually does kill the show. not complaining. i bring them on myself, but still. but the way it was brought. you knew it was coming if you've read the rumors.
sara ramirez's performance was amazing. she can play hard core, and you can tell something is going on underneath. its amazing to finally have arizona back as a full surgeon.
the med student add was a good twist as well.
im wondering what mer's reaction will be when she finds out callie is pregnant, simply because she's trying really hard.
and does mark already know? because his reaction should be interesting. oh... and lexi's! this is the reason they broke up in the first place. this has got to cause a rocky road for the relationship.
something i was bummed about... no promo for next weeks episode. hope their is one next week... cant wait longer than that with such a climactic ending to this episode. :)
i think the writers have a good chance to redeem this B-.
with george and izzy gone, they introduced the mercy westers which was in a word a little chaotic. but now only 2 mercy west residents remain. april, which needs a better story line because she was already fired once. avery who is very good, and i think can advance in the direction he's going. he's going to challenge cristina, and maybe hook up with her if her and owen dont work out.
i loved the dereck and mer became what they became this season. i know its been a while since the beginning of the season and i cant even remember every episode, but i feel like they need more moments. i'm sure im not the only one who hears there piano based theme in the background, i get the chills evertime i hear it. its the moments i clinged to in previous seasons because they werent together. now that ehy are together, what we all wanted, they need to go somewhere. and perhaps this baby storyline can pick up in good pace and not detract too much.
calzona is awesome and as long as they advance where they have been going they, in my opinion, will be good.
i do feel that this season was a bit random at times, with the idea that they were going to focus on one character in one episode, then i never remember getting that kind of episode again, unless i just didnt see that in a certain episode. all the specific episodes were jumbled. the dereck focused episode, flash back and then bringing back a holiday episode when izzy wasnt even around was alot to handle and maybe a little difficult to weave a good storyline through.
but i thought the writers did very good. i wouldnt go as far as giving the show a B-. maybe a A- or a B+ because it had alot of good things next to not so good things.
just my opinion, i know there are alot of us die-hard opinionated fans out there.
