Michelle Borth is not replacing one of the Core-4. There is no way that this is going to happen unless the Producers and CBS want a revolt. She is not going to be part of the team. She is going to continue to play Lt. Catherine Rollins. She will help the team and Steve with Intel and technology as in the past. She will have personal moments with Steve. She may interact with the other team members when they are relaxing. CBS shows have levels of regulars. Some regulars are like the Core-4 regulars and some are like Max. I think Michelle was made a regular so she would be more available to the show...if she didn't have a contract she would likely have ended up on another show as a regular. She is a really good actress...beautiful and smart. I love her and Steve together. They have an adult relationship. They aren't playing that stupid will they or won't they get together game. They get together and enjoy each other...who wouldn't. I like the idea that Catherine has a career...she went to the Naval Academy and has a significant job in Intel.
I wish that they had come up with something more creative than another death watch finale...in particular I don't want to see another woman die a violent death on this show. I hope that they do not re-open the Lori character "can of worms" for the finale. I don't see how it can be any of the Core-4 unless they seriously want people to stop watching.
H5O did the same thing at the end of last season...I wish they had come up with something more creative than another death, particularly if another woman dies a violent death. Last year it was a "major character" and it was the Governor. This year it is "one of their own". It won't be one of the CORE-4 or Max. I think it will be Joe or Fryer.
@Jim: They went to see Kaleo because his brother was involved in the crime...it was Kaleo's brother who hijacked the diamonds and killed the two cops. Fryer was better...not so over the top as the last time. I really like Mary...and the contrasts between her and Steve. It was funny to have Danny and Steve in a scene and to have Steve oblivious to Danny and focused on Mary. I hope she comes back a few times next season...and not always in trouble. I didn't know what to expect with Ed Asner's role...but I thought he did a wonderful job. I was very surprised at the end. Good job all around. The writing has improved and the shows are tighter. I just hope that Alex gets well and is back for the finale...
I loved, loved this episode. Everyone did so well. James Caan was a wonderful addition to the group (hope to see him again). Kyle Harimoto wrote a great script. The parallel to the pilot "count to three" was so cool. This makes two episodes in a row that I can't wait to see again and again. H5O has found its way back (hopefully for good).
@Kelly: Many people stopped watching the show live so they could fast forward through the cringe scenes. Other tried to stay with the show hoping that the Lori character would be gone. I believe that starting with Episode 13...supposedly Lori's last episode some people lost hope. If you look at the ratings there was a definite downward trend. 2.13 2.9 in demo and 11.9M viewers2.14 2.8 in demo and 10.73M viewers2.15 2.7 in demo and 9.97M viewers2.16 2.7 in demo and 9.70M viewersThat trend reversed with 2.17 since the final numbers are out and H5O was adjusted up to 2.9 in demo and 10.4M viewers. The overwhelming reaction to 2.17 on every site...is proof positive that the loyal fan base is a H5O fanbase and not a "just Lori" fanbase. I don't think she contributed anything to the show and the focus on her detracted from the work of the others...particularly Alex.
The Alex Rocks site has been updated and now matches the official CBS site for the Press Release for 217. The only thing better would be a confirmation from Lenkov.
The official press release at CBS Express does not show Lauren German in the Cast Credits. I hope this is not just a mistake.
