Folks: Some of us are just going to have to agree to disagree about the VAS. At least it has all of us talking now more than ever. Your comments and opinions are always welcome whether or not you agree or disagree with me.
@Caitlyn - I LOVE your Cooper and Charlotte avatar and what you said.
@carls - You're welcome!
@LovinLip - Friends?! Sure! After all, there's one thing we all have in common: We love PP!
@Tiffany - Your comment was dead on. I could certainly name a few people in my real life who would fall into the occassionally annoying category.
I love everyone's theories on the mysterious author, and I definitely think there's something up with Ben. I can't quite place my finger on it yet, and I also can't wait to find out!
The VAS was not created with the intention to offend any Violet fans, and I do not "hate" Violet. I stand by my reviews and believe that Violet has grown unbearable at times and increasingly more annoying than ever recently.
Yes, this is merely my opinion and you may think otherwise, but it's also clear that I'm not alone in supporting the VAS. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a total TV junkie and while I do love a number of characters, I know this is all just fictional. Please don't take the VAS personally or too seriously.
@sandy - Yes, Pete's post heart attack issues are very serious. Did Violet honestly need to act narcissistically again for the umpteenth time and suggest that it was all Pete who was causing the demise of their failing marriage? Maybe Pete shouldn't have acted so outrageously, but it's not like Violet has been entirely innocent. You are right, though - no one deserves to be treated badly just because they are annoying.
@Elizabeth - No, I'm not one of Addison's closest friends nor a loved one. Am I missing something here, though, because I didn't know it was a problem calling someone by their nickname... on a review?! What's the big deal?
@me - I never said that I hated Violet. She's just annoying. There's a major difference.
For the most part, it looks like we got the VAS kicked off to a great start! Thanks to you guys! Please keep your VAS ratings and opinions coming. :)
@Jocelyn - Yes, thanks for your suggestion! I thought an Annoyance Scale vs. Uselessness Scale would be more appropriate though. P.S. Clever judging Amy comment.
@Miss Kitten - I can ensure you that my intention was never to "screw" the Violet fans. When credit to Violet is due and she is not as annoying to me, my VAS rating will reflect it.
@ale and @Voland91 - I appreciate your feedback, but I believe you've misunderstood the purpose of a review. It's my opinion on the episode, so it ought to be a subjective (not objective) portrayal. I'm allowed to have a point of view just as you are allowed to share your opinions.
If you are looking for a purely objective recap, then check out our Guides/Recaps.
One more thing, I only rated the episode a 5 on the VAS, an apparently much kinder rating than the majority. As always, you're welcome to share your ratings and feedback, too.
Fantastic episode! Sometimes I can't believe that I'm still watching AHS simply because I've never really been able to watch anything remotely scary. I'm so hooked, though, even with recent nightmares because of this show.
One more thing: The fact that DirecTV might not carry FX scares me more! :(
@carls and @Caitlyn - Interesting! The thought never crossed my mind that Charlotte could be lying about the paternity test. It's hard for me to believe that Char would lie to Coop about something as serious as this, but who knows?!
@All of my fellow Violet haters - I completely agree with your thoughts on this underwhelming character. Every week I tune in hoping that she might change from her narcissistic and selfish ways. As you all know, it’s bound to happen next to never.
P.S. @Joceyln, I LOVE your idea! She might be worse than Vanessa.
Other than all of the Haddie moments, I thought it was a solid episode. Also, I know it would have been too easy, but I wanted the coffee girl to just say: yes! Poor Julia.
