I think the Evan and Paige proposal moment was soooo romantic! It's sort of rare to get such a simple love scene with such beautiful clothes, music and background! I love it!
"I was so happy to see the Smoke Monster got another acting gig after the conclusion of Lost." - Awesome call Chris! It's also nice of ABC to sign him over to another network!
By the way:Season 1: Vampires/Fangbangers/V AddictsSeason 2: Vampires/Dryads (?)/ShapeshiftersSeason 3: Vampires/Werewolves/Werepanthers?Season 4: Vampires/Wiccans/Werewolves/Brujos/Faerys (although season was just weird!)Season 5: Vampires plus their different factions/Werewolves/Faeries/Brujos/Smokey/Shapeshifters/Masked Assasins/Iraq War vets/Fangbangers/Religious Freaks/Psychics/Burlesque... I like this season but WHAT THE...! Where's Hoyt's mum just making a good ol toasty sandwich and keepin it real??
This was a very terrifying and graffic episode to watch before bed!!! It was great to see Tarah finally step it up a notch, and take some control of her situation, I'm surprised you didn't mention that. Jessica is looking hotter and hotter every episode! This episode was full of action, the only thing really lacking from it was comedy, and that's due to the fact that all the characters who bring comic relief to the show and allow us to breathe have been given these super serious (and largely irrelevant) storylines this season. Lafayette, Terry, and even in part Jason have got way too serious on us! Andy is still bringing in some quirkiness, and Reverand Newland... we need more of you!! I love that even in his one sentence Russell still made me crack a smile... what a classic actor!!
I'm assuming most of the comments here are from book fanatics... which is why you're all so cynical. Matt I agree this episode was awesome! If for nothing else then all the subtle take outs on terrorism and the civil rights movement, and hiring the reverend to put a smiley face on it all. That was classic... and such a clever out take on so many political issues really affecting our society. Also the glimpse into how Pam and Eric met, and watching their world briefly collide with Bill and his maker was perfect. This was the first episode in ages that managed to include some comedy as well as all the drama, something that has really been missing in True Blood for ages!! I think so far Season 5 is leaving season 4 in the dust!
The battle was amazing! How often is a battle of that Magnitude on a normal television series! Tyrion wassuperb as the commander (such a fan). And they really did need a full episode to feel the effects of the battle. However all the side stories are so important! They fuel everything that is interesting on king's landing, and in time they may even develop to eclipse king's landing. @jiffypopcorn - hound is a very important character! Have you been following at all???
You're gonna be waiting a while Ryan... Nothing is rushed on GOT
I think this episode was amazing. All the characters played their parts beautifully, especially Peter dinklage. The Jaime story will develop over time, it I'd just setting it up, they don't need to give away so much at once. I think robb's story of how he fell in love is not rushed but rather in depth considering how no time was given to it in the book. The closing scene in winterfell I found especially moving.
I miss the Serena whose eyes light up with love and laughter.... She has been missing for more then a season now! And BTW was so ridiculous she didn't have a lock on her phone on tonight's episode... c'mon! I think it's funny that of all of them, Nate seems to be the only one who keeps up some basic semblance of having a job on GG lately. How unlikely! It was nice to see Rufus with a few cajones at the start of the episode for a change... I think some time apart for this couple would make both their characters a little more relvant again....
This series is so beautiful!! It supports the books so well. My best friend and I started reading the series ten years ago, and so a lot of the details are very foggy, but then I see a scene or a charcter and it brings it all back to life. The actors chosen are all flawless, I agree with Ed, that Robb's character in the series has a lot more charisma and life then he did in the book, where as Arya seems to have faded to the background a lot more then in the book... still that may change. Stunnning cinematography... HBO knows how to impress...
