@entwife i enjoy your stuff. it has energy. it's unabashedly sexy. makes you seem like you'd be fun on a date.
continuing thoughts about poor pregnant teresa fanfics. these pieces usually begin with the death of red john. authors then create a new tragedy to fill the vacuum. almost like what season seven would be if season six results in the death of red john. i think this solution to "what comes after" by so many of the authors of fanfics shows how difficult it will be to maintain the drama of the show after rj. the many moms out there (many of whom want rj to be over) replace rj with their own worst fear, seduced and abandoned with teresa as themselves -- and as the new star of the show. the second most popular solution tends to be a copycat red john. "just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... i like the sexy fanfics and the showdown with rj fanfics. usually the most successful, imho. HOWEVER, the grammar and syntax and malapropisms in some of the best make my teeth hurt.
@bonaduz have not watched the director's comments about simon on the not forgotten dvd. keep in mind that this guy and a few of his partners were indicted for bilking people out of money to fund the production of the film. there was some "creative" bookkeeping going on there. so take the director's comments from whence they come. scumbags usually dislike nice people.
@entwife re: fanfiction. i too cringe at the endless "patrick leaves a pregnant lisbon" fanfics. themes like mothers are martyrs, mothers are gods and stretchmarks are temples to be worshipped by errant men abound. the authors are struggling with these issues, i'm sure, in their own lives. brave of them to share their own fears and anger on some level. but after chapters of diapering and burping, i feel like i'm watching someone's home movies with jane and teresa playing their roles.
hi mimi. how are you? is the weather lovely?
@entwife glad you think so too. she writes that her sister is paying her to write it. think i would pay her too.
thanks, entwife. sometime i may jump into it but i'd feel guilty since i have writing i have to do not want to do.
km thanks for the scoop on friends here who are also writers. i will check them out.
yesterday, i discovered charlotte's web by lexical. it's a knock-out. very dark and beautifully written by someone who isn't as familiar with the character's lighter sides but makes up for it in his or hers grasp of the inner torment jane and lisbon would experience. sort of the cable version of the mentalist. more chapters to come. take a look. curious to find out what you think.
hi all. this is especially for entwife who may have the info at her fingertips. i've been reading fan fiction so i know which stories are yours. (smart, sexy, sweet).
are any of the posters on this site masquerading under nom de plumes there? i ask because i think i may recognize some writing styles and ways of thinking and sort of remember that some of us fessed up a few eps ago.
@entwife that's a fabulous episode.
episode where he's so beautiful, it's painful. red-handed. probably a million more but that one really sticks with me. oops. also, red hair and silver tape. what are yours?
@ani i have always seen a strong emotional entanglement between jane and lisbon and always thought it would evolve to a man/woman thing. my only problem is the timing. if it happens too soon, it'll be weird. it'll take away some of the tragic trajectory - how's that for an alliteration? they have to keep feeding any romance to us with an eyedropper. as patrick would say, that's what makes the trick work.
@entwife thanks for your research of the scenes in crimson ticket. jane was definitely "had" by lorelei. his slip was showing and lisbon called him on it. he recovered really quick from the shock of how he was fooled by rj but no mistake about it, he got taken.
also love km's point that lisbon just agreed to the technical truth of his request and let him tell lorelei that no one was listening. it's like someone asking you "do these pants make my ass look big?" and you answer, "no...those pants don't make your ass look big."
also love km's analysis of the theme of adultery in the second half of season 5. toe-curling.
