I doubt they could execute a good quality emotional death for him (since they failed with Jenna despite spending entire episode on that), not to mention that his death (just like everyone else's) will be forgotten the next episode as elena goes to watch yet another movie.

The show lost more than million viewers since the show started and the ratings average of this season is lower than s2, hell show very rarely climbs over 3 million viewercount. Sure it is still quite good rated show in CW(but so is Supernatural, which is pretty much panned as worst show on network this season by critics). So even if tvd had ratings(which they don't), just because a lot people see it, does not mean its good. Hell, a lot of people twilight :)

Also I am VERY interested in Ariel's backstory. The show REALLY left a lot to be told about it for latter times - how her mother died, what is that tattoo, how her father got the scars, why is she obsessed with grimms, etc.
Juliette was awesome this episode. I loved the fact that writers found a way for her actually to participate in her own rescue instead of Monroe just rescuing her. That was awesome.
Also Ariel is an awesome addition to cast. I hope we see her more than once.
I think Grimm's "Dragons" did dragons a whole lot more justice than recent far less than stellar dragon "portrayals" (*cough*supernatural*cough*)

Look at all the females in the show and their ROLES in overall thing.
One of most known examples is john's letter - did he say for her to be a strong independant woman or did he say he wants her to get children and live normal life? THe second variation puts her into stereotype "kitchen wife" role.
Now look at Originals. How many females? Two females to five males.
Look at the portrayal of becky and esther in comparison to male originals. Yet again the segregation into the stereotypes. Females portrayed as vain scheming and being hurt on love relationships, men portrayed as "strong".
Look at Katherine. Was she portrayed as a strong independent female or a lovesick woman who uses her womanly charms to manipulate and sleep with people?
I think I have seen this episode before...like beginning of s3? The Reckoning..
Or the end of S2 or the end of S1...recycling, much, tvd? :[

Through the seasons Nick's house got trashed, He and Juliette got stalked by refrigibeaver things, Nick ended up in the hospital and he had to constantly keep secrets and be late.
Its not that he is late that made her feel that way in the end of ep - I think she just caught up with the idea of what kind of life a "Cop's wife" will have to lead. Till now they have been living in the NOW and in this episode she realized on what will be. On how he would be late to home and how one day he might not even return, ending up dead as cops usually do.
