LIES! Tang was the best. Sure, she shot a kid and covered it up (it was a clean shoot, but once she made that one stress induced lapse in judgment there was no turning back) but Lucero was pretty flaky from episode to episode.
I don't think Woody was ever married. In "Autopsy Turvey" the murderer is a former lover of his. And in "Lassie Jerky" he was (foolishly) hitting on the chief.
Juliet is the best. I'm loving the expanded focus on her this season, especially because in past seasons they've had the tendency to shove her into the background whenever she wasn't needed for something shippy with Shawn. But seriously, she's the best. And she's underappreciated by everyone too. Ahem, Shawn.
Lassie and Marlowe together are to atypically saccharine that it's completely jarring, but also pretty damn awesome.
Funny that you say that, walter. I've been of the opinion that every single one of the changes made from the NCIS:LA backdoor pilot to the actual series have all been for the worse. I vastly prefer Lara Macy to Hetty, and that the old operations room actually looked like an operations room.
Felicity is still awesome, and Sidekicks United time is best time. I hope that some of that self defense training takes. Maybe then she can build some techy sonic weapon and become the Black Canary, and Dinah Laurel Lance can go die in a "tragic" car accident or something.
This was actually the first episode where I thought there was romantic chemistry between Ollie and McKenna. She's probably a disposable love interest, but I'm okay with her now.
Casting Alex Kingston as Laurel's mom just isn't fair. Each time they cut from Laurel to Dinah to Laurel and back I kept on going "Not acting, Acting, not acting, acting". Can Katie Cassidy just not move her face or something? There's no soul there.
I always laugh when some idiot calls this episode "not PoI". This was co-written by series creator Jonathan Nolan and directed by him as well. This episode was Nolan's baby. It is as PoI as you can possibly get.
The Machine has been a major part of the show since Day One. I always laugh whenever I see people whining about a show embracing its mythology like they want thought free tv. Well, for thought free tv go to CSI.
It was fantastic. Reese, Finch and co. may not have been on the screen much, but their presence was definitely felt. I loved how Reese was running interference on the ambush teams and Shaw ended up waking past a bunch of tactical guys who had been kneecapped.
Fantastic world expanding universe, showing us the logical extension of how the Machine might work for the government. Plus, kudos to giving Sarah Shahi her first good role since she played Danielle Reese in Life. Badass Sarah Shahi for the win!
Hell, the main impetus behind Mike taking the job in the first place died earlier in the season. Mike gets absolutely no sympathy from me, especially if we're supposed to see him in the right. The man has the balls to criticize Katrina for the way she got in the firm, when 1) the position was only open because Mike frakked up and broke one of the principle rules of lawyering, and 2) the way she got hired doesn't even begin to compare with the way he got hired, because he doesn't even have a law degree? Or for that matter, an undergraduate education?
Also, Katrina pulls rank on a paralegal and overrides a task she's working on for a first year. Mike and Rachel then steals somebody's employee code? What the frak?
Mike is just an awful person. He is such a self-centered moralizing hypocrite; you could make a drinking game of Mike calling people out for doing things he has done and get smashed every week. What an awful, awful character.
The worst part is that he doesn't even display the slightest drop of self awareness about how hypocritical he has been.
No mention of Michonne (as per usual) being the most unhelpful person in the history of unhelpful people?
I think that Andrea needs a name change. Instead of calling her Andrea, we can call her "DumbBitch", and with that accomplished, we can introduce a new Andrea. A younger (26ish) blonde law clerk who's friendly and utterly killer with a hunting rifle.
God, Carrie is just so goddamn stupid. Idiot woman fraks a terrorist, and then the terrorist tells her he killed the VPOTUS for her? Cause that's so romantic, amirite?
Godspeed Quinn, and straight shooting. Put two in Brody's chest and two in his head, and put that motherfrakker down.
Dear lord, this episode was terrible plot-wise. This is what happens when you sacrifice plot for character development: the show sucks.
Only redeeming factors: Valerie Cruz rethinking her role as the go-to CIA babysitter of crazy people and dysfunctional families. Well, not really, but it was hilarious watching her go "Imma get out of this mess" at the Brody family shenanigans.
They should bring her into the op to reduce the concentration of female crazy and stupid in the ops room. (Carrie, running back into that mill? Just die.)
