this was by far the best episode in whole season 3! i actually kind of enjoyed watching it, which lately didn't happen very often.
i think the sl's were cleverly put, i liked the stripp/maureen sl, as i did chuck's and westwicks really great performance. this ep was apart from nate's quite lame attempt to hit tripp in front of the hospital (i'm sorry, i just can't get over chace's amazing acting skills...)well acted, it had tempo and intensity a lot of what terribly lacked for such a long time.
i liked the dialogues, especially between chair, very in character, with subtext and not cheesy or immature, savage really caught them as what they are to each other.
finally i could even get over bart's mockery (very weird if you keep 1x18 in mind) about chuck's feelings for blair, while understanding him not as a real person or ghost but figment of c's inner-insecurties and fears.
i'm a bit sceptical about the apparence of chuck's probable mother, but let's see about that.

but to be honest that's the thing about westwick, his face is more interesting than beautiful, yet at one shot he can look pretty ugly and in the other very handsome.
IMO that's also a good precondition for interesting roles, he's doing a great job in playing CB, but that doesn't makes him marlon brando. :-)
i liked chair scheming together, but i disliked the scene in which chuck tried to manipulate blair through sex, that was disgusting, where's their ***ing chemistry gone? is it all the director's choice to let their scenes look so random comparing to season 1 or 2? i did like the scene in which blair gave chuck the photography, though they could have made it more intense! why the hell it is always her who does sacrifices and love declarations?

she never used to be naive or stupid, but this made her look quite dumb.
the scott/vanessa sl bored me to dead, as did bree's. glad, they're only guest-stars.
i still cannot believe that dan and vanessa trusted georgina. that's also some really stupid, unrealistic drama!
the only positive, interesting and new sl i could find was scarter's. i really like carter on the show, i'd love him as a steady character on the show and him and serena make a cute couple!
i have to admit that this ep was much better than the premiere! (maybe because 3x01 was really bad) OOC for serena, she was maybe always a childish girl, but the thing she put on with chuck was a little too much, even for serena.
i was a bit sad not to see more chair-interactions, but at least i'm happy they let them be the couple they supposed to be, the one with a special bound that can rely on each other.

i guess, we all agree that vanessa is one of the coolest characters on the whole show, and anything related to her can only spice up thing. no?
now they put in her family, WOW, i'm telling you, this is surely going to be a sl we won't forget.
honestly i don't like taylor momsen, neither as jenny nor optically, but i have to admit that the styling departement did a great job here, and she looks almost good.
ed looks amazing in that white tuxedo, PERFECTION, i'm happy they stopped with all these ugly purple style suits.
