I don't think Dan's going to be repairing any bridges next episode. He'll just eff Blair over the same way he has everyone else, before falling back in love with Serena again.
Hey, I didn't say it was going to make sense.
But yeah, aside from some hilarious/adorable CB stuff- and the pissy DS scene, which I actually liked- all this time wasted on Steven/Sage/Rufus/Ivy/etc is a real snooze.
So can we just fast forward to Chuck and Blair in a bubble bath with a bottle of champagne already?
Of course Chuck and Blair are going to be together at the end, I don't know why anyone even doubts that. It was inevitable that they would have another obstacle on the way though... after all, they wouldn't be Chair without some angst, right?
Gah, he's so adorable! Love his little suit and bowtie. They did a great job casting him, that's for sure. I hope we get to see the three of them interact as a family.
Re: him being used as a younger Chuck for a flashback- he shares scenes with adult Chuck, so that wouldn't make any sense.
@jenny Well, they filmed CB's reunion in 2x25 outside for the world to see. At a certain point, I think they care more about getting the right setting (and Central Park really is a perfect place) than people knowing the ending, especially when the ending was that obvious already. I mean, who really doubted that CB would end up married?
I'm too happy to post anything but unintelligible gibberish.
I'm honestly baffled by how anyone can think Serena "deserved" Dan's douchetastic little monologue. I can sort of see if you're a diehard Dair fan, and you think Dan avoiding Blair's breakup talk for four months, after cheating on her, means that she owes him some enormous apology for not loving him... actually no, that doesn't make any sense either... but Serena? He treated her like crap when he knew she loved him, told her he never wanted to see her again- and then when she was doing exactly that, completely avoiding him and minding her own business, sought her out just to 1) use her for his book and 2) yell at her about what a terrible person she is? Ugh, just no. Dan is the absolute worst. I haven't liked him in awhile, but even I was shocked at how awful he was in this episode.
(Good God, the character limit on this website is so annoying)
-highlights of the episode for me. Dan actually works well playing a foil to her crazy. I was also surprised at how much I didn't mind Steven or Sage- granted, their roles were limited, but as far as guest stars go, they're not too shabby.
Mostly I was just pleased to see Blair being obviously concerned about Serena and obviously crazy in love with Chuck again (and sparring hilariously with Georgina along the way). That's the Blair Waldorf I know and love.
I thought it was a vast improvement over the last season and a half, although not to the level of GG's earlier seasons.
Part of the anti-climatic-ness is probably because so much of the episode was spoiled- almost all of the Monte Carlo sex, a lot of the wedding scenes, etc- and the result was that I felt like I'd seen a lot of it already. That being said, the MC sex was still super hot, and the other Chair scenes were appropriately cute and sweet, respectively. I liked SB's confrontation at the end, both the fact that Blair apologized and Serena just being done with the whole thing. And while Dan's self-righteous rants were absolutely douchetastic, I appreciated them in that the intent is clearly for both Serena and CB to prove him wrong this season.
Georgina is very hit or miss for me- sometimes she's hilarious, sometimes she's annoying, and there's no telling which she's going to be at any given moment, haha. But her convo about babies with Dan was actually one of the highlights of the episode for me. Dan actually works well playing a foil to her crazy.
I was also surprised at how much I didn't mind Steven or Sage- granted, their roles were limited, but as far as guest stars go, they're not too shabby.
(The user rating is low because like 650 votes were cast- by bitter Dair fans- before the episode even aired. Stay classy, guys.)
What's the point in trying to change anyone's mind? The triangle happened, it was terrible for everyone involved, and it's finally over (about 6 months and half a million viewers too late).
If I weren't so invested in seeing Chuck and Blair finally get their happy ending, I would've peaced out a long time ago.
