Finally a real Mad Men episode this season. Peggy made the right choice. There was nothing left for her to achieve in SCDP. Her career was stuck and she made the right choice.
@Sean McKenna: Always enjoy your reviews but why are you such a snob while doling out the editor ratings. It was a 5 star episode all the way. LOL. Would love a round table for POI. It deserves one.
I liked this show a lot. It wasn't a great season, but it was a good one and deserved a second season. NBC should be ashamed. Anyway, good first part of the finale. Lets see how it ends. Hope we get some closure. Damn you NBC.
Additionally, I was hoping that Root wasn't Reese's old partner because I wanted an arch nemesis for Finch exclusively. So I was glad that it turned out that way. I couldn't be more excited for S2. Bring it on.
Person Of Interest is officially one of my all time favorites now. They don't make season finales better than that. I don't think there was even a single below average episode in the whole season. It has gotten better with every episode and continuously finds new ways to surprise us. You can't take your eyes off the screen even for one moment. Sky is the limit for this show and its team, and even though I hate to sound like a tape recorder, i will repeat that with the talent in front of the screen as well as behind it, this show has the potential to reach places where no other show has gone. Take a bow POI.Take a bow.
For me Gossip Girl has had its series finale in 5x18. Dair was great while it lasted and was frankly the only thing that made me watch GG for a long time after the disasters of S3. I thank the writers for creating such a fabulous couple, its just too bad that they didn't nurture it. My only regret is the way they ended Dair but i guess to expect anything else from them was wishful thinking. I don't know when GG became my bad habit but I can gladly say that after 5 years, I am happy to put an end to it.
No wonder NBC is the worst network out there. They wouldn't a great show if it hit them on the face. If only there was a bit of effort to promote Awake, it would have succeeded. Its a shame because it had great potential.
As much as I love GG and have loved it for the last five years, I am glad that its ending before it gets any worse. It is nothing but a pale shadow of its former self and only one thing has been holding it together for the last one and a half seasons. I miss the times when every plot was relevant and writing was solid. Now even the actors seem bored and I am glad that its ending before I quit watching it.
POI is as good as TV gets, network or cable. Some of the cable shows are great, no doubt, but POI has immense potential. Its been a whole season and we haven't even scratched the surface of some of the mysteries. If this level of creativity is sustained over a period of time, then POI will be remembered as one of the greats.
Great finale of a good season of a great show. But now there are a lot of questions about the show itself? Is this the beginning of the end for Castle the show?
"It was a solid episode." Really? So in the great ship wars of 2012, it is alright to just ignore the absurdities in the plot lines. The guy who supposedly forced Bart Bass to fake his own death, was done in by the amateur imitators of "The Famous Five". And Bart was supposedly back to save Chuck, so what the fuck is he doing in the country. It has been months since he saved Chuck's live. Or are brothels harder to live behind than your billion dollar business. Every single character except Dorota was out of character in this episode. Chuck not trusting Nate, Nate going behind Chuck's back and so on. How about actually reviewing the show next time?
I don't know why I don't like Megan, because when I think about her while I am not watching the show, there is nothing to dislike. But when I am watching the show again the following week, I again don't like her. Maybe the reason is that because of her Don isn't Don any more. Maybe its the fact that because of her we don't see as much of Peggy, as we would like to or maybe its just because despite being sexy as hell, she is annoying.
Speaking of Peggy, even though I would have liked to see more of Peggy in this season so far, her character is reaching an interesting point and I like that.
Pete's situation is pretty hard to sympathize with. I seriously hope that he isn't committing suicide anytime soon.
Lastly, Roger had very little to do, so hope there is more on the horizon for him. And Cooper too.
After some weeks of truly great television, for me, this episode had some very glaring plot holes to be called a "Great Fringe Episode" but it was saved by the awesome acting of the cast and has set the tone for a great finale. Hope it lives up to the expectations.
I might be in the minority here but I liked this episode. Maybe because I watch it after watching POI, and the slow pace doesn't bother me. It was a filler episode no doubt, but I don't mind them if the story moves in the right direction.
@Sean McKenna: "broken and quietly unstable after hearing his wife's death". What?
Good review otherwise. For a moment I thought that he had killed Jennings and frankly I wasn't too bothered by it. But it was nice to learn that he didn't.
This show is truly on its way to become one of my all time favorites. The people behind this POI really know how to advance a series and they deserve all the success they are having with this show. Giving 5 star episodes, week after week is a great achievement and I have no doubt that they will keep up the great work.
