She played the victum, and became the victum. She didn't sacrafice herself for Fitz. She sacraficed herself for Mellie, and Fitz still doesn't know why she never told him. And, she treated her son poorly because of it. Yeah, poor Mellie
Let's not forget, she never told Fitz because she wanted him to win the Governor’s race. She made a choice, power over her marraige. If I remember correctly, Fitz was devastated when she stopped being intimate with him. What did she think Fitz was going do, her problem is, she never thought Fitz would fall desperately in love with someone else. Yeah, Mellie didn't think that one through. And, he fell in love with Olivia Pope. Geez, Mellie must really be pissed.
Wow, well said, definately food for thought.
I absolutely agree. The acting was phenominal in both scenarios, Tom and Abby. I'm going to watch it again this evening, my TGIF night treat :-).
I love Olivia, she does have shortcomings, but her gladiator soul outweights them. She doesn't realize that she controls the men but they also control her. Anyway, most excellent episode, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. Also, Cyres, hell hath no fury like a "person" scorned. It's on now. :-)
I just loved this episode, it is must see TV, TV being the operative word. This make believe world that Shonda has created is definitely my cup of tea. There is love, lust, joy, pain, betrayal, disloyalty and everything else you can think of. This is my most wonderful escape. I love all the characters, because they all have their part to play. Fitz, deep down to the soul in love. He loves Olivia unconditionally. He knows her father or her mother killed his son and still he's all in. Come on, great character. (yeah we knowhe's a cheater, but I guess I don't care, just always wanted to be loved like that). Olivia, brilliant, beautiful, a warrior, but alas a woman, in love, with a married man, nothing new, nothing to kill her for. It is what it is and not for nothing, Mellie is her confidant a lot of thetimes. Poor Fitz :-). Yes and Olivia is a gladiator and obviously has a lot of her father in her. But, she’s still trying to do the right thing. Great character. I could go on, this show is phenomenal, just look at all the comments. Pro or Con, it makes you feel and think and yes love and hate. I can't stand Mellie, but what a character. Who thought her up, my goodness, so wonderful. She is full of inconsistencies. Love or hate her, wonderful actress, wonderful character. Now, to the Helen of Troy soliloquy, I thought it was brilliant, because we got a perspective from the Secret Service point of view. The fact that Tom never really got a chance to really look at Olivia. Wow, what a speech. He gets her and finally understands. She has the President of United States so inlove with her; he’s willing to give it all up. She has “Command” who loves her and in his mine willing to do anything to make her happy and Jake, three powerful men under her control. Yeah, Helen of Troy she is, she owns them. Lastly, Fitz and all that phone sex talk, now that was Hot and it got to Olivia big time, like I said, MUST SEE TV. PS, I was kinda hoping Abby shot her ex-husband, but that's just me. Now he's an asshole.
Honestly, I don't give a crap about Liz. Wow, I don't like her at all. Every episode I think they will write something that will make her a likeable character. No such luck. She is sooooooooooo ungrateful, and not such a good agent either. How many times has she been taken hostage and everytime, Red has saved her. She has the nerve to have an attitude. So, she is not his daughter, and I don't care who she is now.
I really enjoyed this episode, it had a lot to say. It said Abby is in competition with Olivia. That Huck is upset with Quinn cause he still has a family and she bought that back to his attention. He cheated on his wife with Quinn, that obviously isn't sitting well with thim. Fitz is fighting for Mellie, he's not in love with her but he loves her, she is the mother of his children. He also still needs Olivia, even just for his confidence, she put him on the right path last night, wonderful state of the union address, he hit it out of the park. This episode said that Olivia is really into Jake, in fact, they are really into each other, what a nice relationship they have. He knows her very well, he's like a real boyfriend :-). David, slippery slope buddy, for all his speech about winning, he did exactly what he was railing about. David, David, David, what a tangle web we weave... That will come back to haunt you. As to Cyres, kinda corny, he is the most paranoid person, that should not have worked. That scene with him and Mellie, most excellent, he was absolutely right, comparisons should not be made with lost loved ones. I gave this episode a 5.
Yeah, still don't like the Lizzie character, she rubs me the wrong way. Red has saved her on so many occasions as well as given info on how to catch so many black listers and she is so ungrateful. She and her husband seem to be cohorts together. He must be the one feeding her information like Red suggested. Btw, that hole let me kill him bull was just that, Red should have known better. Lizzie killing someone in cold blood, yeah right. That scene with Red and his wife, priceless. Both are such excellent actors. Is Red ever going to have a love interest, that would be fun?
It must be something in the water at USA Network, cause, both Graceland and Suits now have the new kids on the block becoming the so called bad asses. Not realisitic but OK. Harvey went out on the limb for Mike in more ways than one, on many occasions and Mike, in my opinion, is not even in his league, or shouldn't be if we are being real. Mike is smart, book smart, but Harvey is world smart. There is no way Mike should win, but this is TV. For some reason the writers are making Pearson Spector seem weak, the only one still badass at Pearson is Donna, what's that all about?. Rachel, was she really going to kiss this dude (sorry forgot his name)?. WTH, how fickle is she, just sayin. Disloyalty, the one thing I can't abide. Mike and Rachel both, disloyal. btw POOR LOUIS. Come on guys give him a break, make him a partner and give him the respect of every one in the office, geez, how much can he take.
