I'm sorry do we really need more characters on this show, especially males pining after Sookie? We already have Eric, Bill, and Alcide. And Alcide barely has a storyline so you would think they'd give him this role. I have only read the first 3 books so forgive me if this is an actual character from the source material, but either way there are characters currently on the show that are more cared about and do not get enough screen time. Jessica and Pam are clearly fan favorites but always seem to be underused. I dont think i'll ever stop watching but that doesnt stop my constant frustration with the show.
I was so glad that Elena drank from Matt! Readers of the books will remember that Matt was the first human Elena drank from so it was great that the writers threw that in there, it was a beautiful scene and Matt finally got to repay Elena for the gift she gave him in the finale.
On a HAUNTED CRUISE SHIP in the 1920's travelling from Europe to America (or vice versa).
That way they are trapped with whatever is on the boat and unable to be rescued!
Mixed feelings on this as well. Alan Ball was somewhat running the show into the ground, way too many characters and jumbled storylines...but switching a showrunner this late in a series is not alwways a good move.
ALSO as much as I don't want to Alaric to be dead, it's getting kind of old with him dying almost every episode and then coming back. What is this like the 10th time this season? Boring, either kill him or leave him alone for a but!
If Meredith is going after humans connected with vampire methinks Matt is next on her lit! Could be interesting.
ALSO im totally over Bonnie. This is a repeat of season 1 after grams died. Bonnie gets mad at Elena whenever things go wrong. Yes input was to save Elena but Bonnie has helped kill people in the past to help save Elena (John Gilbert, uncle mason). It's time to write bonnie off the show she is a plot device and an annoying one at that.
I hope this isn't the end of klaus and Caroline!
I thought the tree cliffhanger was dumb but Alaric getting shot was awesome. This is one of my favorite episodes of the season by far. Can't wait for march 15th!!
Loved the entire episode. So much was going on with every character but they managed to connect them all. Characters like Caroline and Alaric who usually are off doing their own things still managed to incorporate their romances (klaus and Meredith respectively) while at the same time incorporating them into the main plot. Genius.
I also was NOT expecting them to turn Bonnie's mother into a vampire. As soon as I saw it I said Why didn't I think of that!? The writers on this show time and time again prove how clever they are at giving us twists.
Sad to see Elijah go but there isn't a ton to do with his character now that he's moral (plus the actor has another show lol) but Im super happy rebekkah and klaus are sticking around. Most developed originals! Make rebekkah a series regular please.
BTW, the necklace that Klaus gave Caroline, I know that it was made out of diamonds, but was it in the shape of Infinity? I had to rewind and watch again but I wasnt sure. I'm pretty sure it was infinity which would make sense regarding their previous conversation. Did anyone else get that? Or am I just overthinking that?
If you had told me last week that Klaus and Caroline would be a potential pairing I would've slapped you upside the head. Now? Seems like the freshest thing this show has done in awhile!! Listen, it will obviously take a lot for Caroline to even warm up to him, but the chemistry was definitely there!
Not to mention, I fell absolutely in love with Klaus during that scene. He was so sweet and romantic. Okay I get it, he's a psychopathic murderer, but what I love about him is he is a villain with layers, everything he does has a reason, he's just lonely! At the very least I would love a friendship between Caroline and Klaus. Right now Stefan is the biggest villain on the show in my eyes.
