    This show shits all over family bonds. Not one family relationship has remained untouched. Even Elena and Jer's relationship has suffered so much over the seasons. Stefan and Day Day are over (yet again) and the originals are as divided as ever. What exactly is this show promoting if not the strong bonds that a family should have? Oh yeah...i forgot....chasing the girl and screwing over your brother (whether it be Stef or Day). No morals whatsoever. How can the writers justify this kind of behaviour? But in all honesty, it would be so hypocritical of Plec to have one of them get the girl and have the brothers relationship still solid. They have placed each other under the bus too many times for it to be forgiven now. Its either neither get the girl or if one gets her then its only fair that the brothers distance themselves. After all is said and done i'm no longer a strong advocate for Defan. Too much has happened.

    Don't start with me because i can provide various shows that have NOT declined from season to season in such numbers or have remained constant. So don't pretend that its inevitable that shows decline....because its not. And who the hell was talking about syndication anyway?

    @ whateva. Thank you. I was just about to point out that the fact that the CW has SETTLED for mediocrity has no relevancy in this argument. The WB was the predecessor for the CW so the fact that it is a so called "young" network has nothing to do with anything. All that happened was a name change. SAME NETWORK! And where was this so called complacency when compared to the "older networks" you're talking about when the WB/CW still had shows like Smallville on the books that was pulling on average 9.5 million viewers. Face facts honey, its not because the CW is "young" as you put it. Its because TVD is just not good enough compared to what came before and what others have to offer.

    It just hit me. Why am i even trying to explain the lack of viewership of TVD? Anyone with half a brain would know that when they say that TVD is the best performing show on the CW IT STILL DOESN'T MEAN SHIT because the CW is still light years behind other networks and TVD is still, even after 4 seasons, way behind shows from the other networks. ABC, CBS and the others are the real big boys of late night television and guess what....their shows don't have second rate writers who re-enact Bella Swan 2.0 neverendingly oscillating between Jacob and Edward reincarnated.

    To all those claiming that TVD ratings are fine. Please have your information ready and FACTUAL before you comment. The viewership IS on the decline and has been for some time. Let me give you guys actual numbers to work with. First season average viewership was 3.6 million, second season fell to 3.17 million and third season fell even more to 2.77 million. The most watched episode overall was actually the first episode of the FIRST season.....YES!!!! People have been losing interest in this show from the very beginning because of the weak writing and abysmal love triangle. It is not even the best performing CW show at the moment. Beauty and the Beast, Arrow and even Nikita are rated higher than TVD. And guess what, no one who promotes shows really thinks its ok that they are losing their live viewers to online viewership because when you watch online, unless its hulu, they lose the money that advertisements slots provide. So if people aren't invested enough to watch TVD live (which includes me) then the network suffers and the closer we get to cancellation!!! FACTS! This is exactly the same road Gossip Girl was going down, in terms of everyone losing interest and most people watching online and look what happened there.

    @Ke. That's why I'm advocating that we all get some cardboard signs and picket forks, march on CW headquarters and call for Plec's fat head. We KNOW for a fact that this show is happening. What we don't know is who will be running the shots. If we eliminate Plec before she has a chance to write more of the same b***shit like TVD then we can at least be sure that the network will hire someone else to pen The Originals. The writer's of Sesame Street could do a better job than her. Whose with me????????

I would be much more relieved if I heard that she would be sticking to TVD and someone else entirely...say Joss Whedon (a girl can dream) would take over responsibilities for the Originals. Just ship off Stefan and Caroline to New Orleans as well, that way I can quit wasting my Thursday nights watching the Damon diaries. Can you imagine a show that had Klaus, Elijah, Kol, Rebecca with the occasional Stefan, Caroline AND Phoebe Tonkin....Magic. Let the grown ups leave the little teenagers to their idiotic love triangles and boring decade dances.

However this idea that the sire bond is rare now has to be debunked especially when it comes to vampires and especially when it comes to Damon. We have met a total of 2 females that he has sired and so far he has a 100% sire bond rate. That doesn't sound rare to me, therefore by deduction, this so called bond between the two cannot be rare either because Damon has "spread his special love" to at least one other woman. If anything, Damon's blood is the rare thing and not the bond between Delena. Not saying that they don't love each other, but the idea that that love is somehow "more special" that Stelena love is just a shipper's wet dream. The facts do not support such claims.

    so all she's doing is acting in a more determined way about the decisions she's making(whether those actions are her minds doing alone is what is up for question)...just like another character we know . Hint hint, his name ends with Salvatore. Even her closest friends have seen the changes in her. We cannot deny the fact that at least some of her actions are based on the bond. Would she have ever turned a complete 180 in her decision to jump into his bed just mere days after re confessing her love for Stefan if she wasn't sired? Perfect counter example: when Caroline turned she was in love with Matt and all it did was make her more hot and horny for him. She was not sired to anyone. Now we have Elena, sired to Damon and suddenly can't keep her hands and mind off a guy who is not her man. Fair enough, she's always wanted him deep down. Point is, sire bond is a lot more important than more fans are giving it credit for. A fair choice cannot be made until it is broken and her memories of Stefan become more than a "memory" (still cannot believe they made her say that at the lake house no less).     Why do Delena fans always run back to the excuse that Stefan "abandoned Elena" for their theories..... Is it amnesia or just a shade of Delena tinted glasses that you people are looking at the world through? Please tell me what choice Stefan had to make at the end of season 2 or don't you guys remember anything pass your "deathroom kiss". And as for this theory that she's suddenly grown balls and stands up for herself more.....when has she EVER backed down from anyone with her stupid ass plans and ideas. If anything Stefan has been the fool for his continued faith in her free will and Damon's the one whose always telling her that she's wrong and running a counter plan behind everyone's backs. Not that he's wrong (he's right 80% of the time) but he has never been an advocate of the "Elena Gilbert brilliant deduction team".     Lets see how she reacts to all her so called professions of love when the sire bond is broken. If at the end she still wants to be with Damon then fine but i think most of us have our doubts about that. If not for this bond she would not be saying and doing half the shit she's doing now. Most Delena fans (who don't have their heads so far up Damon's ass that they can't even rotate their neck's) would agree that this bond is working WAYYYYY too much in Delena's favour. If you guys aren't worried about when the odds will start to even back out then you should be because like it or not.....this is not "Elena" in her true self talking and acting right now. Sure she loves Damon, everyone knows that but the question you must ask yourselves TRUTHFULLY is whether she HONESTLY (no sirebond bullshit) loves him more than she loves Stefan. I'm having so much fun using the footage from this new clip in my youtube montage to her starting from season's 1 "it's always gonna be you Stefan" and "I love you Stefan" constant repetition to her apparent 180 "I think I'm in love with Damon" and "He just kinda changed my life" I'm even including the lake house scene where she says she can't even remember her feelings for Stefan. I've never seen a more confused child in my life. Stefan needs to walk away.....SERIOUSLY. He needs to have some self respect and leave the situation for Damon to deal with.

    FINALLY. Some sense from these writers. The originals are FAR more interesting to watch than the Bermuda triangle of doom. Can you just imagine all the awesomeness of Klaus, Elijah and Kol on one screen???? CAN YOU??? Leave the retarts in Mystic falls by themselves they can all crash and burn. No one but DE-ers would continue watching TVD which is fine by me. Jo-Mo is way too good an actor for the little teenage drama and the shipping wars. Just as long as there is not even a whisper of a name that even vaguely sounds like "Elena" and that muffin hogging hippo that they call the main writer of this show keeps far away from the epicness before she ruins it. Just drop off Caroline and Stefan as buddies for Klaus and all in the world will be right!

    @ FruitSalad. I get the argument, I really do. But my problem with it is people refuse to accept that it was Elena's decision to make....not Stefan's decision to force her to make. He made a decision only after she had made hers. DE shippers seem to conveniently forget that she had any part in the matter and that it's just all Stefan'S fault for not overriding her.     The thing I can't take much more of is people blaming Stefan for her turning. HELLOOOOO. She asked him to save Matt. She made that decision, not this crap reverse analysis that some of you seem to think about "Stefan not making a choice" and allowing her to die. He chose to allow her wish. This right here is the fundamental difference between Damon and Stefan. Damon will do WHATEVER it takes to save her, including letting everyone else in her life die. Stefan will always put her wishes above his own need for her. Now ask yourself, would Elena have EVER forgiven Stefan if he allowed Matt to die for her, knowing how she already thinks that everyone dies for her. NO! But Damon does not care about her forgiveness, as long as she is alive.
